I just got a voicemail from someone called Lauren claiming to be from a bank. She asked me to ring them back on 03456047292 but didn’t say which bank it was. Sounded dodgy to me so I didn’t bother calling and blocked the number straight away. Definitely a scam in my opinion.

They’re from MBNA’s loans team, which is part of Lloyd’s bank. Definitely not a scam.

I checked with MBNA and this number is genuine. I rang 0330 678 1430, which is the MBNA Loans Customer Service, and they told me the call I got from 0800 096 1236 was legit. I had a few tech problems when applying. They're part of Lloyds Banking Group.

Got a call saying it was from the bank? Which bank exactly? I called them back and it just said it was the bank on the answering machine. Pretty suspicious, don’t really feel like it was legit. They ring but never leave any voicemail. Bit strange if you ask me!

I got a call from a woman named Shannon who had a northern accent and said she was ringing from ‘the bank’. When I asked which bank, she said she couldn’t tell me until we did some security checks. I wasn’t having it and said I needed to know the bank first. She then tried to give me a direct line number but I didn’t trust it and just ended the call. She did know my full name though, which I stupidly confirmed at the beginning without thinking.

Got calls on both my mobile and landline last night. No idea how they found my landline as we’re ex-directory! Didn’t pick up but the message said it was my bank and to ring customer services, though no number was given. I checked with my bank and the number wasn’t one they use, so it’s definitely a scam. Got a call from a lady claiming to be from a “bank” but she wouldn’t tell me her name or which bank she was with. She asked me to confirm my name, which I did, then tried to get my date of birth. I refused and told her no genuine bank would ask for that over the phone. I mentioned I’d contact the police and asked if she minded. She said sorry if I had to do that. It seemed like a clear attempt to get my personal info - really sketchy and risky to engage with these types!
