Oh yeah, this was totally a scam call. Before they rang, I got a bunch of really long texts about a power outage. The weird part was the postcode they mentioned was miles from my place, like nearly 10 miles away, and had nothing to do with my area at all. I've gone ahead and blocked the number and reported it as a scam now.

Some guy with an Indian accent rang me claiming he was from the meter reading team and wanted details from my bill to figure out why people nearby had messed up Scottish Power charges. Seemed off to me, like it wasn’t a proper call from Scottish Power at all. I just didn’t say anything and ended the call straight away.

Got a call from Scottish Power on an 0800 number again. It's been like two decades since I've used their services. Some meter reader from them somehow took over our account from a well known and reliable energy company we use. Then, these people started showing up at our door asking to see our energy bills and got really aggressive when we told them to go away. Best to just ignore them and not get involved at all.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be from Scottish Power, trying to chat about renewing my contract. My contract is clearly Business Fixed VL3 until October 2024. How do they not have that info? Feels like a scam to me. I told the bloke, who had an Indian accent, that the connection was rubbish and he said something I didn’t catch. When I asked him to repeat, he snapped back with “I hope you go to hell.” Definately marking this as unsafe.

Got a call at 2.10 in the morning and then again at 8.10. Both times the call guardian picked it up. My phone runs on electricity and we haven't lost power at all. I only got call guardian coz there’s been loads of spam ringing at 3 and 4 am, and we’ve got elderly relatives poorly in the house. Totally out of order if this is supposed to be from a power company, they should know better about when they're calling. If these calls had made it through, they’d have heard a proper earful. Really not happy about this!

Last night, I received a couple of calls around 3:08 and 5:21, claiming that my electricity would be disconnected at 9 o'clock. Naturally, it didn’t occur! Being jolted from my slumber in the wee hours startled me since I’m not a great sleeper at the best of times. After the second call, I promptly disconnected my phone from the mains. Could anyone offer some advice? I've been on the Telephone Preference Service for nearly two decades, yet I still find myself bombarded with these pesky scam calls!
