I got a call from Saga Services Car Insurance saying they couldn't take the money from my direct debit. It was a proper call, nothing dodgy about it.

That scam was basically the same, just with a cheque for a bit more money this time.

Got a refund cheque from Saga today for £57.00 in the mail, which was odd since I don’t have any accounts with them. Decided to look up the phone number given to ask about the refund, but it turned out to be linked to a scam, so I didn’t call. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Received a letter at my home claiming to be from Saga Services Limited about a missed Direct Debit payment for car insurance. It didn’t have any policy number or vehicle details, which seemed off. So I rang the number on the letter just to check if Saga was being impersonated using my address. When I spoke to someone called ‘Stacey’, she said Saga couldn't ring me back because of data protection laws. That didn’t sit right with me since they’d have a proper reason to keep and use the phone number on file, plus I’d recently consented. It was obvious a scam, probably about to ask for bank info or something. The FCA has already flagged these scammers pretending to be Saga Services Limited. Best to steer well clear!

Had a nightmare with Saga, linked to Compare the Market. Someone's been cancelling insurance on my Nissan X-Trail LM08HCN using my name - fifth time now, just today. Saga’s customer service is dreadful, keeps sending you to this 125 number that doesn’t really help. There’s another number to call if you want it cancelled properly. I’d say get the reg number and file a report with fraud and the police, it’s the only way forward.

I got an email that looked like it came from Saga, showing the correct number of my home insurance policy and telling me to call 0800 092 0125. The email said something like: "We sent you a letter about an unpaid amount on your Saga Home Insurance, policy no xxxxxxxxxx. We haven’t heard back from you yet. If you replied to our letter recently, please ignore this message and any others from us. But if you haven’t, please ring 0800 092 0125 and one of our advisors will help you make the payment." Thing is, I don’t remember getting any letter from them, and it just feels off, even though they got my policy number spot on. So I’m planning to call a Saga Home Insurance number that I’m certain is legit tomorrow to check if this email’s genuine. I’ll update here with what happens. I’ve received numerous calls from SAGA Insurance, despite the fact that I don’t hold any policy with them! It’s quite irritating, to say the least!

Hello, I recently received an email claiming I owed a payment, but I know I don’t have any outstanding balances. The email said it was from SAGA and included this address in the sender line: [email protected]. It asked me to call 0800 092 0125 to update my debit card info. When I rang, the person on the line said they’d check my account and then passed me to another department. I was asked for personal details like my postcode and street, plus some security questions, which I answered, but it all felt a bit dodgy - maybe phishing? I asked why there was a charge of £11.20 since I’d already paid my insurance in full when booking my holiday. The agent said the underwriters requested an extra fee and that they had to amend my policy, but then waived the charge and didn’t ask for my card details again. My worries now are, is that phone number really connected with SAGA? And could this be some sneaky move by the insurer, changing my policy so I can’t claim the refund for the cancelled Christmas holiday? That seems very suspect, if not outright wrong. I looked everywhere on the SAGA website and online and couldn’t find that phone number anywhere, so I’m concerned it could be an identity scam. The weird part is, I only made the call because the email told me to. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else is asked to ring that number!
