8 yearsOver the past few weeks, I've had quite a few calls, and today a bloke named CARL ALLEN from Asset Consultant Group gave me the usual sales pitch. He was talking about the Dahli Collection of Art, calling it “Assistance of Memory.” Apparently, it’s some kind of treasury asset with no capital gains tax and all that. He said I’d need to invest £2,700 and my return would be around £3,000+. They want me to commit for 12 months. Then a guy called SIMON HUNT from Compliance phoned to ask a few questions. Carl’s supposed to ring back later to tell me I passed the compliance check.CARL ALLENAsset Consultant GroupSIMON HUNTAllen8 yearsBe wary of the glowing reviews you might stumble upon regarding this number! Claimed to represent the Treasury Advisory Group, supposedly calling from Switzerland. He mentioned that he distributes commercial reports for large firms such as B.Gas, Barclays, Credit Suisse, and various UK supermarkets. Apparently, his firm has just received the green light to reach out to shareholders of certain companies on his list-attempting to persuade a £2193 investment in Dali artworks with a promise of 15% returns. Requested verification of identity prior to providing further details, bringing up regulations related to money laundering and anti-terrorism. 14/01/16 - Endured at least 11 calls from a withheld or unavailable number, all of which I opted to disregard. 15/01/16 - Yet again, it was Andrew Baxter. The conversation dragged on until my phone's battery gave out. He called back (I answered on a different phone) and we spent another 20 minutes chatting. I made it clear I wasn’t keen on his proposal. He then insisted on passing me to his superior. After grilling him and stressing that I required written information before disclosing any personal details, he became quite agitated and disconnected the call. Shortly after, I received two more calls from the same number-each ringing briefly before hanging up.
