So, I had this call with some bloke called Guy Stevens who works there, right? When I told him I didn’t want to go ahead with the policy, he just started shouting all sorts of racist stuff at me, even dropped the P word, then just slammed the phone down. I did a bit of digging online and it looks like he might be based in Newhaven or something. Proper nasty behaviour.

My 81-year-old mum, who suffers from dementia, got ripped off by this firm. They withdrew £75 from her bank for insurance on her kitchen gear, which honestly isn’t worth anywhere near that. Whenever I get these annoying calls, I like to keep them hanging for about 15-20 minutes. First, I ask how much it costs, then say I'll need to grab my card, which takes about 3-4 minutes. Just as I’m about to pretend to read out a fake card number, I play a ringtone from my laptop and say I’ve got to answer - it’s my Doctor calling about some test results. They’re usually okay with that, and it buys me another few minutes. Then I try the bogus card details, and when it gets declined, they start blaming my wife for overspending. After that, I tell them I’ll have to use my Barclaycard and go downstairs to get it, which wastes more time. I read out another fake number, it doesn’t go through, so I say alright, we’ll leave it there but thank you for the call. All in all, I manage to waste a good quarter of an hour of their time.

I got tricked into paying for what I believed was a renewal of my washing machine insurance for three years. They had a lot of info on me, like my bank details and address, which made me feel uneasy. After finding this site, I reported it to my bank, who promptly cancelled my card. Unfortunately, a direct debit of £225 had already been arranged and was pending, so couldn't be stopped in time. The bank did promise to refund me once the transaction goes through. Be cautious, they come across as really legit and even have customer service calls to follow up.

I got a call from a guy who spoke really posh and said he was ringing about renewing my washing machine insurance, which apparently runs out in August. He offered a deal that was super cheap - way better than what I paid before, seemed a bit fishy. Thing is, I'd already sorted my renewal back in April. He did know my name and where I lived, but that was about it. He gave me a different phone number as their contact line, but I actually got the call from 01618541397.

My elderly dad, who’s 94 and a bit muddled, got a call about some insurance deal. I think he ended up giving his card info because money vanished from his bank. Then the Bank Fraud team got in touch with me; luckily, I have an LPA and managed to get the cash back. But when I looked at his account a few days later, I saw a direct debit had been set up and £75 was taken again. Tried ringing this number loads of times, but they hang up on me every single time. This is definitely a con job. Watch out, it’s disgusting behaviour.

I was daft enough to go along with it, seemed totally believable at the time. As soon as I got off the phone, I rang my bank, had my cards cancelled, and was told nothing would be taken from my account.

This lot are phonin’ up an elderly fella with dementia, pushin’ hard to sell insurance and sneakin’ off with his bank details, even taking cash out twice without permission.
