10 yearsI got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Kevin Mc Canister. He was pushing some software security that cost like £149.99 for a year. I didn’t agree to buy anything, but I did let him access my computer briefly - I’m worried now if that caused any trouble. I use an iMac, so fingers crossed it’s safe. My iMac and iPad look fine so far. If anyone could confirm that I’m alright, that would really ease my worries. Thanks a lot, Valerie.Kevin Mc CanisterValerie10 yearsI got this alert pop up on my iPad saying it was infected with something called Zeus, Iris. It warned me not to shut down my iPad or I'd lose everything on it. Then it told me to tell someone called E to call a specific number and give them the code B2957E. I’m really unsure whether to switch off my iPad or if it’s just some kind of scam. Does anyone know if it’s safe or if my iPad really has a virus? Thanks, K MK. M10 yearsI called this number after spotting it on Google as the contact for Norton Anti-Virus. When I brought up an issue regarding an overpayment on my subscription, I was told that in order to get my money back into my bank account, I first needed to buy an iTunes card from Tesco and then call this number with the card details. Only then would Norton reimburse the whole amount? I quickly realised that this wasn’t an official Norton customer service number, which set off alarm bells for me. I managed to track down an authentic number for Norton instead.GoogleNortoniTunesTescoSubmit Your Own Report (0800 086 9146)
