Got a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach, saying they were checking on an issue with poles and trees nearby. We don’t have any issues like that and told them straight up. He asked for a Nigel, but I’m a woman and my name only shares a few letters with his. He quickly hung up when it was clear he wasn’t getting anywhere, so I’m pretty sure it was a scam 😤

I've been inundated with calls from this number and others like it, along with fake BT engineer scams. It’s relentless - I’m getting around five or six a day! I've reached out to BT for clarification, and they’ve assured me that there’s nothing amiss on their end; it’s all a scam, apparently.

got a call from openreach after i told bt my internet was down. an engineer was trying to set up a repair visit. for those saying they're not bt customers, keep in mind most broadband companies actually use bt's network, so openreach often gets involved when there’s an issue.

someone said they were from openreach but it felt really sketchy - they said it was about a fault that was supposedly reported (which got fixed just yesterday) but they couldn’t say what line or address it was for. halfway through, they changed their story from a problem with my phone line to my internet, even tho i dont even have bt internet. i reckon this number is being spoofed by some scammer.
