The number connects straight to a team that’s gathering additional ID info for certain accounts, which they have to do because of UK laws. So yeah, it's a genuine Santander contact.

Earlier this morning, I received a pre-recorded message purporting to be from Santander Bank. The message alleged that there had been fraudulent activity on my bank account. Specifically, it stated that I had made a payment of 300 GBP to Apple. The voice on the message requested my confirmation regarding this payment and asked for my bank details in order to verify the transaction.
