Honestly, some of the stuff people say here seems a bit too clueless to be true... unless it's all just a joke? Might be, since surely no one is dumb enough to actually get caught up in the scams mentioned earlier.

They act like they’re offering help online and convince you to let them into your phone. Once they’re in, they hijack your device and steal all your data. Afterwards, they drain your bank account, but it seems like you are the one doing all the stuff.

They said they were helping me online and somehow managed to get into my phone. After that, they took over my phone and managed to grab all my personal info. Then they started stealing money from my account. It all seemed like I was the one doing the transactions. I lost around 1800 quid this way.

These scammers keep pretending to be from HP support, it’s crazy how many there are.

Some fraudsters managed to take more than £1200 from my account after getting remote access to my phone. Seriously, avoid any calls or numbers linked to this. Never let anyone get control of your phone like that. The police really need to step in and sort this out.

They’ve just swiped £1200 straight out of my bank account!

Like others here, I spent about 20 minutes on the call before it hit me it was a con, so I just turned my computer off. Does anyone know if there’s a way to find out what details they grabbed? I’d really appreciate tips on what else I should do to protect myself.

Just a heads up, 08000803033 is a total rip-off! I looked up HP support 'cause my printer was acting up. When I rang them, they claimed not to be HP customer service but some tech team. Next thing I know, they were trying to scam me out of cash through Skrill transfers. No clue who you're meant to tell about this kinda fraud though...?

Got a call from a number claiming to be HP support. They told my family member there was a £2 fee to install printer drivers on their computer. Then they had them create a Google Chrome profile and used a remote access tool to take control of the PC. They stayed on the line for more than two hours 'helping' with the driver installation, meanwhile setting up Skrill and Western Union accounts under my relative’s name. Luckily, we realised it was a scam in time. Avoid this number at all costs - it’s definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone saying they were from HP support. They started asking for my email, bank info and my address. I was lucky to realise it was dodgy and stopped them before anything happened. I’ve already contacted my bank and updated my card info just in case.

I was trying to set up my new HP printer and to get the driver downloaded, they wanted me to pay £1 upfront. Somehow they managed to get my husband’s card info and even a scan of my passport from me online. Just a warning to others, watch out for this!

I called about HP ink cartridges and some strange foreign-sounding person answered. They said they’d save my number and get back to me in half an hour. Felt really suspicious to me!

I called hp print ink because my printer was completely knackered. I guess this number got mixed in somehow when I dialled hp. Since I already had an hp account for my ink, I went ahead and shared my card info with them. Next thing I know, they took control of my phone from afar. My bank overdraft, which was £1189, got wiped out. Watch out, folks! When I reported it, the cops weren’t much help and my bank barely believed what happened.

I was trying to get in touch with HP about my printer that stopped working. Somehow, this number showed up when I dialled HP's support. Since I've got an account with them for ink, I ended up sharing my card info. To my shock, they got remote access to my phone. Next thing I know, my overdraft, which was £1189, was wiped out. Watch out for scams like this. The police weren’t interested, and the bank barely believed what happened.

A worker at Currys gave me this number, claiming I owed a £2 fee for some “new drivers” update. They asked for my debit card details, then insisted on staying on the call to “assist” me. At one point, they wanted remote access to my computer to run checks and install these drivers. I started feeling uneasy and ended the call, but when I checked with my bank later, I discovered they’d emptied my account right up to my overdraft limit - about £6,000 gone in total.

I found this number on Google claiming to be HP tech support, but BT told me it’s actually connected to some Skrill scam. If you need to contact HP, make sure you use the proper number, which is 0207 660 6027, and look out for the real HP logo.
