After reading all the comments, I’m pretty suspicious of this number. It’s been ringing my mobile and home phone non stop lately (June 2025). I accidentally called back once when I didn’t recognise the missed call but hung up before anyone answered. Since then, I’ve just been ignoring it. Feels like harassment and probably a scam, so I wouldn’t trust it at all.

We got two calls, one last night and another early this morning, with someone claiming to be from HSBC. My husband’s been with them for more than 30 years, so how on earth did these people get hold of his number? Obviously, it’s dodgy - scammers for sure!

I got a call from an automated message asking if I was **name** and to hit 1 to confirm. Then it went on to ask for my date of birth. I didn’t bother with it and just ended the call. The number came up as HSBC Bank Fraud on my caller ID.

This number has called me several times over the past few days and I kept missing it. My phone showed the caller as HSBC, so I got a bit concerned thinking it might be something serious. Got a call from this number today, and my phone’s Truecaller app said it’s probably an HSBC scam. They tried to confirm my identity by asking for my date of birth. On 29/10/2024 I got a call from someone claiming to be M&S Bank, but it actually showed HSBC on my phone which was weird as it wasn’t in my contacts. They wanted me to confirm info about someone I know who used to have an M&S card but had problems with fraud before. I told them it sounded fishy and their answers didn’t follow normal banking rules, yet they still pushed me to call back with personal info. This number really needs to be blocked, and BT should be penalised for allowing it to keep ringing hundreds of people who have already flagged it as suspicious.

Then they tried again, asking for bits of my details, but I still wouldn’t share anything.
