On the 5th of April, 2023, I got an email stating that I was being charged $479.38 USD for something called a network protector. It included a contact number for any questions, which is 0800 066 4121. To be honest, I suspect this is a dodgy number and I have no plans to give them a ring.

I recently received an email regarding a bill for Microsoft defenders and firewall, supposedly from a user named “mcrsys information.” The email didn't have any payment information, just a number for a “Toll-Free Helpdesk”-08000664121. I chose not to ring them as I spotted this number here and suspected it might be fraudulent. I've reported it and moved on. Wishing you all a lovely day!

I got an email about a Microsoft Defender and firewall charge from " [email protected] " with the user name "mcrsys information". There were no payment details, just a phone number for a "Toll free Helpdesk" 08000664121. I didn't ring them as the number looked dodgy and suspicious of a scam. I just reported it and ignored the email. Hope everyone stays safe out there!

Someone pretending to be from o2 called me with an Indian accent, then said I wasn’t with them and just hung up on me.

You could tell it was a call centre judging by all the noise in the background. Supposedly O2 was ringing me to offer a 40% discount on my phone bill cause I’d supposedly been picked at random. When I asked them to provide my details they couldn’t, instead they wanted me to give my info to prove I was the right person for the deal. So I just ended the call but they kept ringing back straight away and didn’t stop until I ended up blocking the number.

This number rang me yesterday, but I was actually calling from my number using VOIP. When I looked up their IP, it showed India. They’re on VOIP too, so I managed to track them down. I asked where they were located and they claimed they were in London. When I questioned their IP location, they just ended the call.

O2’s Indian scam call centre keeps ringing me even tho I told them to stop. So, I blocked the number and then called them back like 30 times straight, yelling all sorts at them each time. Honestly, that’s what you get when you keep pestering me like that.

Just like everyone else mentioned, thick accent and trying to knock off more than my actual bill. Who in their right mind would a legit company do that? Total SCAM, so I blocked it straight away. They were obviously fishing for numbers coz the one next to mine rang right after.

Total w****rs, definitely a scam. I've reported them myself and 02 have done the same.

I didn’t pick up to hear what they wanted but just so you know, it’s a work phone tied to a nationwide business plan. So there’s absolutely no chance I’d get genuine calls from any phone networks trying to sell me stuff for my personal number.

They’ve rung me a few times already. The person had a really strong accent and could hear loads of noise from their call centre in the background. They were trying to sell me some kind of discount, but I had a hunch it was dodgy so I ended the call pretty sharpish.

totally a scam, i wouldnt pick up, they keep talkin about discounts and stuff like that

Had a strong Indian accent, said he was calling from O2 and promised a 40% discount no questions asked. I knew it was dodgy right away since O2 never does things like that with customers. Definitely could trick some folks though.

Just like the others, this person said they were from O2 claiming I’d been picked for a 30% discount, then suddenly bumped it up to 40%. They told me to give them the code they’d supposedly send by text to activate it! I ended the call straight away.

yesterday my hubby got a call from this number, they said they had enough info to get into his o2 account and change his password and email, even order a new phone in his name. he was lucky cause he was on his way back home, and i’d already noticed on his emails that the password had been changed, so i knew something dodgy was going on with his account.

Got a call claiming to be from O2's Operations Team saying I'd been picked for some upgrade or a discount since I supposedly have an O2 contract - which is rubbish, I don't! The bloke had a really dodgy Indian accent and I couldn't catch the name of the company he said he was from. When I asked how he got my number, he couldn’t answer and just hung up as soon as I told him I’m not with O2. Proper dodgy call.

Somebody called saying they were from O2 and had a free upgrade for me. When I asked how they got my info, they just said I was an O2 customer. I told them I’m not. When will Ofcom do something about these calls?

Not from O2, said it was about an upgrade but I just did one last month. Their way of talking isn’t nearly as good as most Indian call centres I’ve dealt with for UK firms, looks like a total scam. I’ve blocked the number and won’t be answering any more.

Somebody called saying they were from O2, wanting to upgrade my plan, which seemed dodgy since I haven’t had O2 for over 3 years. I told them I’m not an O2 customer anymore, but they kept saying their system showed I was and asked me to confirm a verification code supposedly sent by O2. After a few minutes of me refusing to give any code, they just hung up. Since O2 actually sent me a code to “access my account,” I reckon it’s a scam where they try to get that code to mess around with your account.
