Got a call around 10 in the morning, bloke said he was from 'Telephone Preference Management'. Had a sort of Indian accent, I think. I just ended the call straight away. Another dodgy call centre trying to scam. Everyone watch out. Hate getting pestered by these lot.

I missed the call but managed to get the number through my voicemail. Could hear all sorts of office-like chatter in the background, and some bloke kept saying hello multiple times. That’s when it hit me-it was a dodgy call.

A guy with an Asian accent finally came on the line. He said he was from the Telephone Preference Service. I told him I actually worked for the real TPS and that he must be one of those scammers. He just ended the call straight away.

This bloke was trying to pass off as someone from my phone company, even mentioned the Telephone Preference Service to sound legit. He got pretty annoyed when I called him out as a scammer and kept insisting he was legit, saying he was actually helping me avoid a scam. He asked if I pay my phone bill by direct debit, so I told him I always pay it by cheque when the yearly bill arrives, which he oddly went along with!!! Definately a scammer as I don’t pay that way at all.

I just got a call from this number. A guy with an Indian accent said starting tomorrow I'd stop getting annoying calls. He already knew my name and address which was weird. Then he asked for my card's expiry date, and I got suspicious. He seemed annoyed and mentioned something about my direct debit. My card isnt linked to any direct debit at all. So, I hung up. The phone rang straight away again but I let it ring out.

They were really pushy and seemed to zero in on vulnerable folks, sounding quite convincing. The caller pretended to be from the phone company, claiming “this is the phone management and we’re here to put a stop to nuisance calls.” He was relentless, even phoning back when Margaret hung up, didn’t give up easily. He said it was “compulsory that she stops the nuisance calls.” What’s worse, he rudely asked her if she even understood what “compulsory” meant!! Margaret kept ending the calls, and finally he backed off.

Back on 29/08/20, someone mentioned how to handle these scam calls. Really, we’ve got two options here: either just block and ignore them, putting up with the annoyance, or take a stand by reporting each number to Action Fraud. I reckon reporting them to the police is the way to go.

Got two calls from this number earlier today. It was one of those auto-diallers with a weird silence before they finally say something. Proper annoying and feels like it could be dodgy. I just ended the call straight away. If they ring again, I won’t be so polite!

An Indian gentleman purporting to represent a company that blocks nuisance calls? What a joke! It's best to handle such calls with complete disdain. Perhaps lead them on for as long as you can, just to squander their time and, hopefully, rack up some of their own phone charges.

I received a rather hostile call from someone with a prominent Indian accent. This individual demanded information regarding my debit card and went so far as to threaten to terminate my phone service right then and there. Not pleasant at all!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from my phone company’s blocking service, but when I asked him who my provider was, he didn’t know. Pretty sure it was a scam.

FRAUD ALERT Received a call purporting to be from the Telephone Preference Service, supposedly to get my nuisance call blocking sorted. They had my name, home address, and phone number, which raised my suspicions straight away. They were adamant that I must share my bank card's expiry date to finalise their "registration" process. When I probed them on the necessity of such information, they couldn’t offer a sensible explanation, yet kept repeating that they didn’t require any financial details-just the date. I firmly told them I wouldn't disclose ANY bank details over the phone and promptly terminated the call.

Got a weird ring from this number. The woman on the line had a foreign sound to her voice, maybe African. She just said "Hello" and I asked what she wanted, and she was all like, "What was I trying to do to her?" Bit confusing. I just told her straight, "You rang me." Then I hung up. No way I was wasting time on whatever scam or nonsense this was.

This is the third time this number has popped up this week! I already suspected it was a scam because I’d looked it up here before, but decided to answer anyway. I just stayed quiet like I’ve seen others do, and then the person on the other end hung up. I quickly ended the call too.

This number has rung me multiple times today. I never picked up and they haven’t left any voicemail either. Seems like a sketchy scam, especially since they keep using the exact same number to try their luck. Definitely not something to trust.

He was quite pushy, shouting at me to confirm if I was the wife. But when I tried to find out where the call was from, he got really nasty and told me not to be clever!

Got a call today from a number saying they were with the "Telephone Preference Company." I tried to keep the conversation going to see what details they were after, but oddly enough, they never asked for any info. When I called them out for trying to make it seem like they were from the Telephone Preference Service, the bloke threatened to block my phone. I asked him how on earth he planned to do that, and then he just started cursing and ended the call.

I received a dodgy call purporting to be from the call blocking department. I was immediately wary, and then they began to mention my debit card details. That was enough for me-I ended the call right there!
