+27 (31) 940-0979 is one of those numbers that will hit you with extra charges if you pick up or ring back. It’s like a premium rate scam, so best to steer clear and not even bother answering!

Got a call from Rapid Loans on 03335671078 saying I was approved for a £5,000 loan I'd applied for that same day. Sounded genuine so I paid an £85 finders fee but never saw any cash. They then transferred some money into my bank asking me to use it to send over to a Coinbase account. Seemed fishy so I reported it to the police straight away.

Got a call from some insurance company saying they could cover my TV for £7.99. I asked how they even knew the price of my telly. Turns out we’re only paying £2.99 anyway. The bloke had an Indian accent, not surprised. Number was 01539 422400, which is meant to be Kendal, Cumbria but I reckon it’s a spoof number. I let him talk for a bit, then hung up when he realised I wasn’t buying it.

Somebody rang pretending to be from the IRS or something, asked my lad to grab loads of iTunes vouchers and told him not to mention to the cashier why he was buying that many. They said if he didn’t give them the scratch codes, the cops would be called 😂. Thankfully my son’s clever, twigged immediately, so he just mucked about and didn’t fall for it.

I’ve had four calls allegedly from Microsoft so far - on 16/08 at 12:11, 17/08 at 09:11, and twice on 18/08 at about 10:20 and 15:43. All of them spoke with an Indian accent. Each time they asked if I’d noticed anything odd with my computer. When I said no, they claimed they found viruses that needed removing and asked for remote access. I flat out refused and said no chance they’d get in. They then threatened to close my Microsoft account, but I told them to go ahead and hung up. My account is still perfectly fine. Bit fishy if you ask me.

These scammers try all sorts, like pop-up scams and cold calls, pretending to be from Microsoft. They want you to pay on a bogus website and get into your computer, making you believe they’ve sorted your problem when all they’ve done is snooped around for your personal info. For anyone saying it’s a legit service, seriously think for a moment - these are the actual scammers, don’t be daft. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total con. Only ring them back if you plan on messing about with them.

This 08000662164 number rang me claiming they were from Microsoft tech support. At first, I was a bit iffy cos they asked me to do some stuff that felt dodgy. But then I got passed on to someone else who actually sorted it out. Turns out my computer was riddled with a virus that wiped loads of stuff, but they managed to fix it in the end.

I received a rather bizarre phone call earlier, purporting to be from the Computer Fraud Investigation Unit. The caller, a lady named Sarah, had an accent that sounded distinctly Asian. She ominously informed me that my internet service was on the verge of being restricted due to alleged fraudulent activity and asked if I was aware of the situation. I couldn't help but retort loudly that it was absolute nonsense. What unnerved me further was that she astonishingly knew my name. After I hung up, I attempted to contact the police only to find the line engaged, making that off-putting buzzing sound. I ended up having to disconnect my landline and leave it for a while before reconnecting everything. This sort of scam is absolutely despicable, aiming to fish for sensitive information like your banking and credit card details in order to rob you blind.

I got a ring from a chap who sounded quite savvy, with an accent that seemed either Indian or Pakistani. He instructed me to press the Windows key and R together, and to type 'cmd' in the box that popped up. I must say, I was quite taken aback and responded, “Blimey, I've dealt with this before-I'm onto your little game.” I told him I’d look into the number and suggested he try his luck with another call later. Cheers!

The phone number is connected to the website [#]justdialtech[###]. I got a call today from an Asian lady who said she was part of their Network Technical Support Team. She claimed they’d got word that my email was being used fraudulently by others and wanted remote access to my PC. I told her I was suspicious and would get back to her once I’d verified the company’s legitimacy. After ringing Norton Security, they told me it was definitely a scam. No legit company would have details on strange activity linked to your email account. DO NOT SHARE ANY INFO OR LET THEM ONTO YOUR COMPUTER.

Today around 10:50, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a number that came up as 'not available' and labelled as 'outside area'. The caller hinted at some sort of unauthorised access. I was encouraged to return the call to the same number. The woman on the line, who identified herself as 'Sabrina', claimed she was phoning from London and instructed me to mention her name should I decide to ring back. Strangely, she appeared to have an unsettling amount of personal information about me.
