Got a call around 1:10pm on the 13th of April 2026. They tried ringing me three times but always hung up just before I managed to pick up.

Just like a lot of others here, my partner got an email about a missed payment. When he rang the number given, I told him straight away to hang up before anyone answered. We double-checked our account and all payments were definitely made. Looking into our Virgin Media account confirmed everything was sorted. It’s really worrying to think our personal details might be out there and being targeted for scams like this. It’s honestly pretty upsetting knowing our info could be leaked and exploited for cash.

Got an email that looked super formal saying I hadn’t paid last month’s bill. I checked my bank and it was definitely taken out. I just ignored the email because they even had my correct name and the exact amount, so it felt weird.

These scammers are seriously dangerous, especially for older folks who might not be as savvy. It really winds me up, especially with the government pushing for digital IDs as proof of identity... these scammers are proper skilled and know their stuff. Just thinking how much easier they'd find it with digital ID is scary. Stay vigilant, it’s a stressful mess for many of us!

Two calls already from this number saying I owe Virgin Media money, which I definitely don’t. Was thinking of phoning Virgin Media to complain and ask why they’re sending these messages, get them to put an explanation in writing or just remove it from my monthly bill. Today, I got an email that looked just like the ones others have mentioned, supposedly from Virgin Media. I wasn’t too sure about it, so I flagged it up as a phishing attempt to Virgin. They got back to me saying: "Thanks for letting us know. The email you received is actually a real message from Virgin Media. There was a tech glitch which caused it to be sent out accidentally to loads of customers today. Sorry for any confusion this caused." So from what I can gather, both the message and the phone number included are legit after all.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me as the person before. Got an email saying I hadn't paid my last bill. I rang up my bank to check and turns out the money had definitely gone through. That’s when I started to doubt the email. Now I’m stuck on hold with Virgin, waiting to speak to someone from their team. My 91 year old dad just got an email about owing money on his Virgin Broadband account, and the amount mentioned was exactly what he usually pays each month. I double-checked his bank, and all his Direct Debits have gone through like normal. The email looked so real - the amount, the account number, even the payment details seemed spot on. I am with Virgin Media and fell behind on a payment. I’ve been a customer for ages. The phone number I called was on a letter I got about the payment, so I rang them to set up payment for later. I called 150 instead of the number in the text, and the guy who answered did say I had to pay at least £10 or my services would get cut off. I can't say for sure if the text was a scam, but Virgin themselves confirmed that the details were right.

So, I've just fallen victim to a rather dodgy scam! As a new customer with Virgin, I saw this number listed on their forms as a payment line, leading me to believe it was legitimate. I phoned up, and to my dismay, I was prompted not once but twice for my password security letters.
