Was the call on 24/4/18 from a call centre by any chance? Dealing with seriously ill family members already, I really don’t want strangers ringing up selling stuff I’ve no interest in. I know we should be able to opt out of these calls, but how is that possible when they hide their number? They pick their job, I get to decide if I answer or not to avoid wasting my time. This number keeps ringing me non stop. Each time I block it, it somehow rings again but with a tiny digit changed, looks like it’s from a call centre. They can only do this legally by buying lists of phone numbers from clients. Always look for that 'do not send me info' box when you give out your details, sometimes you have to tick it, other times not. Mess up once and your info ends up on these lists companies purchase. I’ve also been at places where they just pull numbers straight from the phone book. That’s definitely against the law though.

Got a call today from 08000641087, some bloke with an Irish accent claiming he was from O2. He said I’d used their services last night, which isn’t true. I was actually at a Toby’s in Banbury, where they advertise free Wi-Fi. I checked and saw the connection wasn’t secure, so I didn’t bother using it and switched off my phone. Just a heads up, using "free" Wi-Fi might expose you to annoying calls like this. I’ve blocked this number now.

Somebody phoned me to check if I was on a 3 contract, then tried to get me to donate to a charity. I said no, and they just accepted that but then immediately asked about another charity. I refused again, and the lady repeated herself in the exact same way each time. After the third or fourth attempt, I realised it was all automated messages! Got a call showing 02 on the caller ID but seemed dodgy to me, they were clueless about even simple info so I reckon it's a scam.

This is defo not anyone from 02!! Seems like they’ve got hold of a load of numbers, maybe from O2 or some phone shop, cos they sometimes know bits about your account but never the crucial stuff. They’ll chat you up saying they’ve got a cracking deal on something, maybe even luring you in with a “free” iPad or some rubbish like that… DON’T HAND OVER ANY INFO, or you’ll be sorry!

Got a call and picked up immediately... For about 5 seconds there was silence before someone finally started talking, but I ended the call right away since I had no idea who it was.

I've been receiving calls from this number incessantly, at least a couple of times daily without fail. Somehow, they've managed to get hold of my mobile number. The caller claims to be from O2, but I’m with EE, so it’s baffling why they’re bothering me. I tried ringing the number from my landline since it shows up as withheld, and discovered for certain it's indeed O2 on the line. They’re rather bothersome, and honestly, even if I were considering switching providers, I wouldn't give them the time of day now. Blocking them on my mobile seems like the only sensible option as this has been dragging on for ages.

They proposed both a mobile plan and a SIM-only deal, which appeared quite appealing, I must admit. However, I decided not to go ahead with it, and they mentioned they’d ring me again tomorrow. Truth be told, I shan't be picking up as I’m not keen on pursuing this any further, yet they were rather persistent despite my reluctance.

I've had these O2 calls ringing me like 3 or 4 times daily, and it’s driving me mad. Answered a couple times just to say take me off your list, but they keep ringing regardless. Got a call from O2 trying to switch me onto a rolling contract, even tho I'm just on their PAYG plan. They claimed I'd save 25p a month, like that’s gonna make any difference, haha. Honestly, you can't even get a snack with that tiny amount. Feels like they’re just fishing for my card info for some dodgy scam or something. Proper sketchy if you ask me :/

I get calls from them like 4 times a day, always claiming I applied for a free O2 SIM. Each time I tell them I’m not interested, they say they’ll remove me from their list. The other day, one guy rang and before he even tried to sell me the SIM, I told him I wasn’t interested, and he just said he wasn’t selling anything and hung up. Quite odd really.

Received an email from Netflix, suggesting I could win a whole year of free access. I should have been more vigilant, as I inadvertently accepted some terms on the initial page. When the second page popped up, I swiftly shut everything down, but alas, O2 had already got hold of my number. I've since blocked them and various other firms that have started bombarding me with texts. If you stumble upon this email, do yourself a favour and disregard it, as I ought to have done!

The most frustrating aspect is that they represent O2, and it appears the company does little to rein them in.
