8 yearsGot a call from some American woman saying my fridge was under some third party insurance. I told her it’s not even a vehicle! Pretty clear scam in my opinion.States8 yearsGot a call earlier from this number claiming to be Shield Home Protect Ltd, saying they could reduce my insurance premiums. They wanted to check my bank info but I didn’t give them any details. I’ve never even signed up with Shield Home Protect, but I had a laugh winding them up. The caller ID looks similar to the real company, so be careful.Shield Home Protect LtdShield Home Protect8 yearsTotally a dodgy call!8 yearsI received a call from a woman claiming to be from "SS customer service", returning my call. She suggested that I might be overpaying for my white goods warranty. I mentioned that I didn't have such a warranty, and she responded by informing me that it had recently expired and offered to provide me with a great deal. It was quite clear to me that this was a scam. When I started asking her some questions, she promptly hung up on me. What a complete waste of time!8 yearsGot a call from a woman with an American accent trying to sell cheaper insurance for appliances. She couldn’t tell me which company she was with or exactly what I was supposed to be insured for. She just rattled off loads of different appliances and names of various insurers. I told her she had all the wrong details and asked her not to call again, but I’ll block the number just to be safe.8 yearsdefinitely a scam, watch out!8 yearsReceived a random call from a woman speaking with a strong (maybe Indian or Asian?) accent, claiming to be from some company called "Safe secure protect." She said her name was Ross and gave two numbers: 0800 061 4327 and an extension 0345. She quickly launched into telling me I was paying way too much on my appliance cover (something like over £20) but wasn’t willing to say how much she wanted to charge. She then asked for the make and age of my appliances and tried pushing for my bank details. I told her "No, thanks" and hung up right away! Added her number to my blocked list now.Ross8 yearsLoads of calls keep coming through asking for Mr or Mrs Smith. I've told them nicely several times that no one here goes by that name. Honestly, I’m proper fed up now! Since I’ve got their phone number, I’m thinking of trying to track down their address and send them a bill for wasting my time. Reckon £0.10 a minute sounds fair enough!Smith8 yearsGot a call from a woman who knew my name, claiming she had a better offer on my warranty. When I asked for more details, she only mentioned kitchen appliances but wouldn't say which ones exactly. I don’t have any warranties at all. When I told her quietly, “I reckon you’re trying to trick me,” she just hung up. Next time, I’m gonna stall them, pretend to search for my info, maybe make a cuppa while I’m at it.8 yearsI got a call from a lady called Kim, who had an Asian accent, saying my white goods cover for kitchen stuff was too expensive and could be better with Safe Secure Protect. I told her I didn’t even have any cover and asked which bank account she meant I was paying from. She mentioned four well-known high street companies. She seemed really nice and trustworthy. Quite a crafty scam, honestly. Just be careful because eventually they try to get your bank details. That’s when I nicely said no thanks.KimSafe Secure Protect8 yearsSome guy called about updating my white goods insurance - he even knew my name and address. Problem is, I don’t even have any white goods insured. I let him go on for a bit before telling him I thought it was a scam trying to pull something dodgy. The call got cut off pretty sharp after that.8 yearsGot a call from a woman with an American accent, called herself “Raine”. She said my insurance for appliances was ending soon and that her firm, “Safe, Secure, Protect”, could reduce my payments - I don’t even have that kind of insurance! Seems like a total SCAM to me. Be careful! She tried to get me to confirm my bank info, and when I gave a completely different bank name, she just said “that’s right”. They’re only after your bank details, watch out!Raine“ Safe, Secure, Protect8 yearsHad a call from an american lady claiming she was from an insurance firm about some white goods insurance I supposedly had but it’s all a trick to nab your bank info. Stay well clear!8 yearsWoman with a near-American way of talking on the phone about changing the cover for my appliances or something. Problem is, I don’t own any, and she called my work number (guessing some automated system?). When I told her I had no clue what she meant, she just ended the call. Bet she was after my bank info to 'tweak' my payments. Could definitely trick someone who's less wary. SCAM for sure!8 yearsWoman from overseas mentioned something about white goods rules then just put the phone down and carried on chatting to herself.8 yearsMy drain cover broke today and honestly, I think I'm overpaying big time. So annoying! This really sounds like something worth sharing, especially with older family members or anyone who might be easy to catch out. Please spread the word!8 yearsSaid we was owed a refund!!!8 yearsReceived a call about some "phone blocking service" and claimed I owed an admin fee from 2016. When I told them I wasn’t paying, they just ended the call. Marking this as dangerous since it could easily trick vulnerable people like those with dementia into handing over cash.8 yearsA lady claiming to be from Safe and Secure contacted me regarding insurance for kitchen appliances. She mentioned that my current coverage would be upgraded to comprehensive automatically. However, since I did not have such coverage, I ended the phone call with the number 08000614236.Safe and Secure8 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from SS (never come across that company before) about a policy for white goods. Coincidentally I do have one, but since it wasn't with SS, I wasn't buying it. So I kept saying no to all their questions until they finally hung up. Definitely felt like they were trying to scam me.SS8 yearsI received a phone call from a woman who claimed that she could lower my insurance premium for white goods (which I actually don't have!). She requested my bank details in order to proceed. It is clear that this is a scam.8 yearsGot a call today (30/4/18) from a lady with an American accent, saying she wanted to talk about my 'white goods policy'. I've never even signed up for white goods insurance, so I just ended the call. But I can easily see how people with actual policies might get tricked by this kinda scam.8 yearsSomebody rang up saying they were from a white goods insurance company called 'SafeSecure'. They told my grandparents they'd get a better deal for being loyal clients. But they kept asking for bank info and couldn't say anything about their current plan or any proper details apart from their names. My grandparents didn’t hand over any info and just hung up in the end.SafeSecure8 yearsLike many others here, this is definitely a scam. They had incorrect details which I requested be deleted under the Data Protection Act. I kept telling them that I never had, nor would ever have, any kind of extra insurance on kitchen appliances despite the bloke claiming their records said otherwise. He kept pushing but I repeated my request to have all my data deleted under the Act. Eventually he said fine and ended the call. This number should be blocked in BT Call Protect, though I’m not sure why it isn’t already listed there???BT Call Protect8 yearsI’ve started ignoring calls more often now because there’s loads of scam calls these days. I figure if it’s important or genuine, they’ll leave a voicemail anyway.8 yearsJust got a call from an American lady - quite unusual! She said her name was Ann and was from Safe Secure, talking about some white goods cover I’m apparently paying for monthly. She wanted to switch me to some other plan that’d definitely end up costing me more. I’ve never had, nor ever will have, an extra policy for white goods since they’re already covered under my house contents insurance. If not, I’ll just buy a new one. She cut the call before I could even mention that I’m on the TPS list (not that it really helps much, but I’m on it anyway).AnnSafe SecureTPS8 yearsBeware of this fraudulent scheme: a clever woman posing as a representative from "Secure my Drains" attempted to deceive me. She claimed to offer comprehensive coverage and asked me to renew my certificate. However, I was fortunate to have already received genuine insurance from my water provider. Therefore, I can confirm that this is a shameless scam. I took note of the number provided by the caller, which belonged to a local company named "Secure my Drains." Utilizing the 1471 service, I identified the scammer's true contact number as 08000614236. It is strongly advised not to initiate any calls to this number.Secure my DrainsSecure my Drains.8 yearsI received a call claiming that my kitchen appliance warranty needed to be renewed, and the caller offered me a better deal. Upon asking for more specific information about the appliances and the insurance provider, the caller simply repeated the same details and mentioned having my name, address, and postal code. I explained to the caller that they must have obtained my number either from a third-party marketing company or dialed it randomly. Engaging in a back-and-forth exchange with these individuals can be quite entertaining. Ultimately, the caller ended up hanging up on me. It's a shame though, as I was actually hoping to waste their time for a change.8 yearsLike a few others here, I got a call from someone claiming to be Safe Secure, saying they were covering my kitchen stuff like the cooker, fridge and washing machine. They said it was £30 a month. Ive never heard of them and definitely dont pay for any of that. When I told them I'd report them to the cops, they just hung up straight away. Plus, the person on the phone had an American accent which seemed odd.Safe Secure8 yearsI received a call from this specific number and it was claimed to be from a company called 'Secure Drains', discussing my insurance policy with them. However, when I questioned their legitimacy, they ended the call abruptly. This experience is not only bothersome, but it also reminds me that individuals with ill intentions like these can victimize vulnerable individuals such as my mother-in-law, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.Secure Drains8 yearsBloke said hello, I picked up on speaker, then he just hung up. Probably one of those dodgy scammers trying to con people out of money with some rubbish story. Honestly, they can just piss off.8 yearsThey rang my dad, claiming they offered insurance on his appliances and could sort out a cheaper price. Since my dad has dementia, I quickly took the phone off him. The woman then started asking about what appliances he had, and when I told her they should already have that info if they cover them, she got a bit annoyed. Then she said they weren’t after anything private but still asked for my dad's bank account number and sort code!! I just hung up straight away!!8 yearsThey rang me and already knew my name, but as soon as I asked who it was, they just hung up.8 yearsThey said they were ringing about our kitchen appliance insurance and claimed they could offer it for less money. When I told them we pay nothing because our appliances are way past their service life, they hung up pretty quick.8 yearsNice lady on the phone - she said I’d signed up to stop annoying calls and there's a last payment I needed to make. I told her I never agreed to pay anything and she must be wrong. She said she’d check her files and call me back. When I googled her number, turns out it was a scam.8 yearsThe person sounded quite polite at first, asking if I recalled subscribing to a Call Prevention Service, mentionin it had to be renewed today. They even gave me my address and a password we’d used before but then requested my credit card info. I said I wasn’t interested in renewing and they suddenly got really rude. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.8 yearsOn the 10th of April, I received a phone call from this particular number. The caller mentioned something about my kitchen appliance insurance, although I clarified that I do not have any insurance in that regard. After informing them of this, the call was abruptly ended by an individual of Indian descent. I attempted to call the number back, only to discover that it belonged to Tesco Mobile. Frustrated by the situation, I left an unpleasant message.Tesco Mobile8 yearsGot a call today from 08000614236 claiming I needed to upgrade my call blocking service, which I didn't even know I had. They said they already had my card info and asked me to confirm the numbers. I refused and they just hung up. Sounded really genuine though. They left a callback number 0800 772 0592 but it just goes to voicemail. Bit dodgy if you ask me.8 yearsPolite English bloke on the phone. Said he was from TPS and asked me to pay £149 to 'enhance' my service. Sounds like the usual lot who keep bombarding with annoying calls!TPS8 yearsI picked up the phone to find someone on the other end who seemed to know my name and began chatting about some call blocking features that I supposedly set up a couple of years back. To be honest, I hadn’t the foggiest idea what they were on about regarding call blocking. The moment I mentioned my lack of knowledge, they abruptly hung up. Quite peculiar, wouldn’t you say?8 yearsGot a call from 08000614236, they wanted to speak to my mum but as soon as they realised it was actually me, they hung up straight away. I tried ringing back but it just went to voicemail, left a message pretending to be my mum but never heard back. I just told them to jog on, hung up, and blocked their number right away.8 yearsWATCH OUT! This is definitely a SCAM. The moment they sense you’re not falling for it, they just cut the call. It’s really scary for the older or more trusting folks. They tried saying I owed them for two years of call blocking services I never signed up for. These people should be put behind bars, they’re just awful.8 yearsI just got a call from some so-called call blocking company claiming they were updating their system. They asked me to verify my address and already had the first four digits of my card, then wanted the last five. I told them no way I’m giving that info out. I mentioned I still get loads of cold calls, and she said they only block about 70% right now, but if I paid a £149 admin fee, they’d block calls forever. Told her I’m not paying, she insisted I had to, so I just said no and she ended the call. In the past week alone, I've received calls from five different numbers, all with British accents, most likely from the same call centre. Fortunately, I have plenty of time on my hands to waste theirs. Perhaps OFCOM or any other relevant authority will eventually take action against these unscrupulous individuals, but it's important to maintain a philosophical perspective. Said she was calling from Salisbury to ask if we wanted to renew the company’s services. I asked for an email with her offer.
