Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon. He said someone in Nigeria tried to log into my account and buy stuff. He sent a verification code to my phone and asked me to read it out. That felt off right away. He also said he was calling from the UK. He even had my email and home address, then asked for my bank info. I told him to get lost and hung up. But he kept ringing me back, sometimes from hidden numbers. Later, I checked my email and saw a login alert from India. They asked if that was me, which obviously it wasn't. I reported it to Amazon and they blocked the login attempt. Proper dodgy call, left me really shaken.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Amazon, claimed a bunch of gift cards had been bought in Germany. They kept pushing me, saying I had to give them an OTP quick! The bloke spoke with an Indian accent. I told them no way, I'd contact Amazon directly. Definitely a SCAM!!!!!

My phone flagged this number as maybe being a scam, so I didn’t pick up. Then last night I got a text saying my so-called ‘wallet’ was frozen because of some dodgy activity, with a link to click on. Thing is, I don’t even use Google Pay or anything like that, so was a bit suspicious. After looking through these comments, I’m guessing this was a sneaky attempt to get cash out of me on a follow-up call.

Got a call on my phone on the 16th of January. I picked up but stayed silent since the number was unfamiliar. After a second or two, the caller just hung up. Seems like the usual scam tactic to me. If it was someone legit, they’d probably say "hello" if I didn’t respond.

Got a call super early, like 6.15 in the morning. Was fast asleep so I just ignored it. No voicemail or anything, which made me think it was dodgy. Had a close shave not long ago with a call from an 0800 number too - the person sounded Indian and claimed to be from Paypal, saying they needed to verify a payment on my account. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust any 0800 number claiming to be Paypal or similar - it’s probably a scam. Stay cautious!

For two days in a row, this bloke called me saying he was from the Security Team at Amazon, checking if I made purchases totalling £599.99. Today he claimed my name and address had been hacked. Then out of the blue, he began asking how many bank accounts I have. I pointed out he was asking for my info but hadn’t even said who he was working for or where he’s based. Suddenly he laughed and said something like my money would be gone if he hadn’t caught this. I ended the call straight away.

I got caught up in a scam email pretending to be from PayPal too. It wasn’t until I told my daughter about it that she warned me I’d just given my password and security info to someone calling from 0800 058 4514. Thankfully, I was able to update my details quickly and stop anything dodgy happening with my account. Can’t believe I was so silly to fall for that! Now they’re ringing me back, no doubt to try the same trick again. I’ve blocked the number now. Really grateful for this phone lookup site - might help others avoid the same mess.

WATCH OUT, THIS IS A FRAUDULENT CALL TRYING TO STEAL YOUR BANK INFO, SO DON'T PICK UP! This morning I got a call from someone claiming I’d ordered a Mac from Amazon. I told him straight away that I hadn’t. Then he said he’d cancel the order for me. I asked who he was and why he was even calling me without verifying anything. He hung up right after. Avoid talking to these scammers at all costs! Back in November 2023, they rang me from the number 0800 054 4215 and somehow managed to steal £10,000 from me. Luckily, my bank sorted it out and gave me the money back. Got a call from someone claiming to work for Amazon. They seemed to have way too much info about my credit card details. They kept sending me all these security codes and messages telling me to 'cancel this transaction'. Funny enough, I accidentally hit the wrong button and it made my card security alert ring on my home phone. It all sounded so real, nearly fooled me.

Someone phoned claiming there was suspicious activity on my PayPal account and wanted my personal info right away. I pointed out that he hadn’t even introduced himself properly or followed the usual data protection steps you’d expect from a bank or financial company. He didn’t seem pleased and asked me to cut him some slack. When I asked what he meant, he started making some really crude and inappropriate demands, which totally shocked me.
