Had a rather dodgy experience recently where someone was masquerading as Amazon, attempting to get me to verify a supposed iPhone order. Quite the conundrum, if you ask me!

I received a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be from Amazon. The chap on the line insisted that there had been an attempted login to my account from Nigeria and that someone was trying to make a purchase. He then proceeded to send a verification code to my phone and requested that I share it for 'authentication purposes.' At that moment, my instincts kicked in-something felt off about the whole situation, especially since he asserted he was ringing from the UK. This stranger seemed to have access to my email address and home details, which unnerved me, and next, he was fishing for my bank information. I decided to terminate the call on the spot. However, he didn't take the hint, as he continued to try and reach me, even using a withheld number. I quickly checked my email and discovered an alert about sign-in attempts from India. I certainly hadn’t logged in from there! I made sure to notify Amazon immediately, who confirmed that it wasn’t me trying to access my account. It truly was a frightening experience dealing with that unknown number.

I had a rather dodgy phone call purportedly from Amazon, insisting that several gift cards had been ordered from Germany. They even sent an OTP my way, sounding really pushy and urging me to quickly provide the code! The caller had a distinct Indian accent. I flat out refused and mentioned I'd contact Amazon directly. Definitely a scam! Stay vigilant!

Total scam! I spoke to a woman who was really hard to comprehend; she brought up something about purchasing a laptop and then abruptly ended the call.

After seeing other people's feedback, I'm led to believe this was perhaps a follow-up attempt to extort some cash from me.

Received a call on my mobile on the 16th of January. I picked up but remained silent since I didn’t recognise the number. Almost instantly, the line went silent. To me, this has the hallmark of a scam attempt. Proper callers usually greet you with a 'hello' if you don't speak right away.

I've had a rather alarming experience over the past couple of days. A chap has rung me up two days on the trot, purporting to be from the Security Department of AMAZON. He was inquiring whether I had made any purchases amounting to £599.99. Today, he went on about my personal information being compromised, which raised a huge red flag. I pointed out that he was rather elusive himself, not revealing anything about who he was, the company he represented, or even his whereabouts. Instead of providing clarity, he started chuckling ominously, insisting that I’d regret it if he didn’t sort the situation out before losing my funds. I decided enough was enough and hung up on him right away.

I recently got caught up in a PayPal email scam as well. It was only when my daughter pointed it out during our chat that I realised I had shared my password and security details with the number 0800 058 4514. Thankfully, I was quick to change my account information and safeguard my details before anything serious happened. I can't believe I was so naive! They've been trying to ring me again, presumably for the same dodgy business. I've since blocked that number. I'm utterly grateful for this phone number lookup site; it might just help prevent others from falling into the same trap.

I had a rather dubious call from this number today, 1st November 2023. The individual on the line had quite a strong Indian accent and their English wasn’t great at all. It seemed very much like a cold call, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were attempting to exploit unsuspecting individuals. Best to hang up straight away and ensure you block that number!

Heads up, everyone! I just received a dodgy phone call this morning that's undoubtedly a scam trying to fish for your banking info. I was caught off guard when a bloke claimed I had ordered a MacBook from Amazon. I firmly told him I'd never made such an order. His quick response was to offer to cancel it! I couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity and promptly terminated the call! His number is now blocked!

I’ve had a similar encounter.

I received two phone calls from this number, spaced about four hours apart. The first call was from a chap with an Asian accent who began probing me about whether I’d experienced any damage to my property. I assured him there were no issues and promptly ended the conversation. Then, after a while, I got a second call; as soon as he recognised my voice, he simply disconnected. Seems like some sort of dodgy scam to me!

Received a call allegedly from Amazon regarding a dubious mobile phone order placed just the previous night. However, after checking my Amazon account, I found absolutely no record of such an order. Quite puzzling!

I received an email stating that I owe £500 for a PayPal invoice, and when I called the number provided, I was greeted by someone posing as Alan from PayPal. It was painfully obvious he wasn’t truly named Alan. I can’t believe the audacity of these scammers! Please stay vigilant and don’t let them dupe you with their dubious tactics.

Possible scam alert! I received a message urging me to settle a £750 payment to Kaspersky through PayPal, linked to this phone number. Be cautious!
