I got this weird email saying Jim C requested money from me via PayPal. It said I sent £899.99 to ESET NOD32 somehow. They told me if I didn’t do this, to ring their 'customer service' at +44 800 058 4174. Feels dodgy to me, like a scam trying to trick people. Be careful if you get something like this!

Got a "legit message" from someone called Joseph Currell through Paypal asking for £899 about Bitdefender. They left this number for "customer support." Since it was the first time I'd come across a PayPal scam, I reached out to their team. Danni was really helpful and showed me how to cancel the payment request - it's all gone now. Joseph Currell, honestly, you’re a right pain in the neck! Seriously, don’t ever call the number in the email or reply to it.

This was definitely a scam pretending to be from PayPal. I got an email claiming I owed £899.99 to someone named Debra Carroll. I logged into my PayPal to double check and found a payment request from them. I quickly cancelled it and forwarded the suspicious email to PayPal at [email protected]. Changing my password right away just in case.

Got a message supposedly from a Shaune Kelley at Bit Defender LLC, asking for £899.99. The note said something like 'You sent £899.99 GBP to Bit Defender LLC. If this wasn't you, call our support at +44-800-058-4144.' It made no sense to me - why would they be asking for money if I’d already paid? Definitely looks like a scam. I’ve reported it to PayPal and also tweeted about it to warn others.

Just got a message sayin £1299.76 was taken from my bank for an iPhone 14 Pro Max purchase. Says if it’s not me I should ring +44-800-058-4851 right away to cancel and get my money back. Looks like a total scam to me! Don’t bother callin 08000584011, it’s dodgy. Stay safe everyone!

So, I got an email that looked proper from Paypal saying some Andrea Goldsmith was asking for £877.99 for a MacBook Pro. The number they left was included in the message. When I checked my Paypal, the request was really sitting there, so looks like they’ve somehow found a real, active Paypal email (but they aren’t using my phone or mobile numbers in this trick). I haven’t sent any money yet and have reached out to Paypal for advice. Thing is, if I reject the payment, they’ll get told and that means they’ll realise my account is active.

so i got this payment request on my paypal from some Terrance Wilson for like £877.99, which i never agreed to. i found the phone number linked to it by searching it on google, and then i just said no to the payment and blocked the bloke. i definitely didn’t order any mac book pro. steer well clear of this one!

So I got a text from 08000584011 telling me I’d supposedly sent £1500 to some Robert Anderson through PayPal. It said if it wasn’t me, I should ring them straight away. I checked my bank and there’s no sign of that payment anywhere. When I called back, a guy picked up and he sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. He claimed to be from PayPal and said someone was attempting to hack into my account.

Got a text from 07706040879 saying I’d supposedly sent £1500 to some bloke called Robert Anderson. It told me to ring +44-800-058-401 if it wasn’t me. I phoned both numbers from my work phone and both times someone answered claiming to be PayPal support. Turns out it’s a scam. I’ve contacted PayPal directly to report it.
