Got an email claiming it was from McAfee, telling me I'd been charged £368.92 for renewing their service. But on their real website it's under £100. Glad I found this site to double-check! Just a heads up to everyone: Always keep an eye on your bank statements and any subscriptions, even if you don't pay with PayPal, because cards can stay linked until you remove them or update info. Stay careful out there!

Got an email supposedly from McAfee telling me my subscription had been renewed and that I had 24 hours to call their support on 0800 054 8327 if I wanted to cancel. Problem is, I don’t even have a McAfee subscription! Very fishy.

Got an email saying I supposedly owe some money, about x amount, and that I had to ring +44 08000548327 in 24 hours or they’ll just take it from my account. It claimed it was for some kind of MC fee protection. Seemed really dodgy to me.

Had a call from someone asking for my bank info, claiming I’d signed up for stuff. They said if I put in a number, it would cancel everything and refund my money. I didn’t give any details and no money was taken. Felt fishy but luckily nothing got stolen.
