WATCH OUT Someone managed to get into my O2 account. I was busy at work and ended up giving them the code that was sent to me. They kept asking loads of questions, so I just ended the call. Now I’m chatting with the proper O2 people to fix everything and lock my account down.

Here’s a snippet of how the chat unfolded: "I’m currently paying £6 monthly, so how does a 40% discount work on that?" … There was a lot of waffle about discounts … "So, do you really work for O2?" "Indeed, I’m on the line from O2." "And from where exactly are you calling?" "Mumbled address somewhere in London." "Can you tell me what the weather’s like there?" No answer. "I said, what’s the weather like there?" "Why do you need to know?" "I’m just curious, look out of your window and let me know." And just like that, the call abruptly ended ... how odd. Clearly, a scam attempt.
