Got two calls from a number I dont recognise but they never left any voicemail.

Somebody rang up claiming to be from Sky, saying they wanted to arrange a direct debit for my insurance. I foolishly gave them my account number and sort code, but when I looked at my insurance papers, it turns out the payment isn’t due till December. They said they planned to take the money on Monday 7th June. I’ll be contacting my bank every day to check they haven’t set up any direct debit or withdrawn anything.

Called this number on 18/5/21 about 10:33am, but it went straight to voicemail right away. I tried ringing it again and got some annoying muzak followed by a weird recorded voice sounding like Donald Duck saying “your call is very important to us.” I hung up quick, felt a bit dodgy.

On the 29th of April at about 6.15pm I noticed they’d tried to ring me. I called them back the next morning around 7am. At first there was this weird warbled music then an American voice said something like “please hold, your call is really important to us, you’ll be connected to an agent shortly.” I hung up straight away after that. Just a heads up, watch out for this.
