Got a message from this number claiming it was a cracking deal from Virgin Media broadband. It came not long after I'd done my referencing with HomeLet. Looks like they’ve shared my info without asking, and from what others say, it’s not Virgin Media at all. So, I've blocked the number now and decided against getting any insurance or other offers from HomeLet. Proper dodgy and annoying. This sort of thing’s happened to me before when I’ve moved flats. There seriously needs to be tighter rules on this stuff.

I’ve been renting through GoodLord for about 2 years now, and this number keeps messaging and ringing me all the time. It’s clearly some dodgy call centre pretending to be Virgin Media. They say they’ve got exclusive offers, then start asking for your personal info and bank details - which no real company would ever do on a call. Just block it and don’t bother with them.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media support, pushing a broadband offer. They said they got my details from Goodlord. They had my phone number, full name and the address I’m moving to soon. Clearly some major data leak has happened. The ICO should step in and Goodlord really needs to be held accountable, maybe face a fine. Really worrying stuff.

Last week I had a similar experience with Good lord. Just today, I got a text saying: Lucky you! Join Virgin Media, grab the best deal, and save loads. Call 08000524079 to start. Then they rang me, asked for my name, then hung up. When I called back, the agent said they were Virgin Media and claimed my estate agent had passed on my details since I was moving. They seemed to know everything. I wasn’t convinced at all, and my estate agent definitely didn’t do this. I’m going to check with Virgin Media myself now.

All I caught was something about a "letting agency" and "setting up bank details". When I told him to email me instead, he ended the call pretty sharpish.
