Got a call from someone pretending to be Virgin, saying my contract was ending soon. Took me a second to realise it’s not true since I’d just updated my plan. I went straight to blocking the number.

I keep getting calls from 08000521251, probably about 3 or 4 times every day. It just rings out and then goes to voicemail, but there’s never any message there. The frustrating part is I can’t block it since it never actually shows up in my call history. Proper annoying!

Virgin Media kept calling me, but my phone kept marking their number as spam, so I wasn’t picking up. Eventually, I picked up one of their calls just to see what was going on. Turns out, they wanted to check if I'm on the best tariff. I told them I've almost a year left on my current plan. They apologised and promised to take me off their call list, but then they rang me again today, 25th September. I got really fed up and told them to quit pestering me! 😡

Tonight, Wed 24 Sep 2025 at around 7:20pm, there was yet another call that got auto-blocked 🚫 from these scammers... Earlier today at about 12:24pm, the first one came through and got blocked too. I checked with the real voicemail, and nobody has been trying to ring me. Then out of nowhere, they sent me a message to 7726 saying to text ‘call’ and then the number. That’s about it...

I get calls from Virgin Media about three times every week now, ever since I switched to a cheaper deal after being a long-time customer paying higher prices. Guess they aren’t too happy I found out I qualify for a better package and never gave them a ring first. I just ignore the calls these days because they don’t bother leaving a message. I reckon those Virgin Media deals are legit, not some sort of scam, but seriously, they keep ringing you non stop even after you say no thanks. Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media, but the person spoke with a really thick Indian accent. When I asked where they got my number from, they just went quiet and couldn’t explain. Received a call yesterday from someone who said they knew I’d been a Virgin customer for years. They tried to sell me an upgraded Virgin Media package but asked for some security info first. I ended the call and then tried to ring Virgin Media directly, but getting through to either their Customer Service or Fraud department is a nightmare. The caller rang me a couple more times after that, so I looked up the number, which claimed to be Virgin Media, but I’m pretty certain it was a scam.

It’s really frustrating. Even though I’m with Virgin Media and have clearly opted out of marketing calls, they keep ringing me. I’ve said over and over that I’m not interested and don’t want to waste time chatting, but they just ignore me. They always say it’ll only take a couple of minutes, but then talk right over me when I try to say no properly. Plus, they call at the worst possible moments!
