My screen suddenly froze with a scary message saying my IP address was hacked and to call a "free" Microsoft support number. Don’t fall for it - it’s definitely a scam. They soon start asking for your credit card info and demand between £300 and £500 to "fix" the problem. I just held down the power button to force a shutdown, rebooted, and everything was back to normal. Avoid calling that number at all costs!

I got a pop-up warning saying my laptop was hit by a trojan and telling me to call this number right away. When I rang them up, they tried to charge me a lot for fixing it. But my antivirus software says my system is clean and everything’s working fine. Feels dodgy to me!

Just so you know, that’s a bogus virus alert. It’s labelled as “dangerous” but honestly, it’s nothing more than an annoying nuisance.

My laptop showed me this number but also popped up a big warning saying it was hacked and locked, telling me to call straight away. I’m not too sure about ringing because I can still use my laptop fine, but my email login has been acting quite odd lately. Something definitely feels off.
