Got another call from a scammer that sounded really believable. I got a call from this person and immediately got suspicious when they asked me right away for my bank account number and sort code. They claimed it was just to check which bank I use, but that seemed really dodgy to me. Honestly, watch out and don't hand over any of your info to them!

For the last three days, this number keeps ringing me every morning and evening. It's getting a bit annoying.

I got an email and a letter from them including my sort code and account on it. At first, I thought it was all legit, but then I looked up the phone number online and found this forum. Turns out they are scammers. I’ve since contacted Natwest’s fraud department to report it.

Don’t ever ignore unexpected calls or messages from your bank. Always make sure you ring the bank back using the number printed on your card to be certain it’s legit. Banks use loads of different phone numbers, so it’s tricky to know for sure if a message is real or some scammer trying to steal from you. Some scammers even put up fake ‘danger’ reports about real bank numbers here to trick people into blocking them or reporting to ‘7726’, which can cause your phone provider to mark all calls from that number as scams, even when they’re not.

If you ring your bank to verify if a call is genuine (like mentioned in the post below), the customer service team can usually tell if the bank has been trying to get in touch and will either direct you to the right department or help sort it out. Bear in mind, they might not know every single phone number the bank uses. Even if they say it’s a scam, it doesn’t always mean that particular number is fake. Scam callers often use fake versions of real business numbers, which is a big headache for companies and their clients alike.

The only reason I havent pressed it is cos my partner reckoned it sounded dodgy! They keep ringing and its getting really annoying so I looked it up online and loads of people say its a scam.

Got a call claiming to be from NatWest, which felt a bit off, and before I knew it, they were asking for my personal info and said they'd put me through to an operator! The number that called me looked like it might be linked to another call made to NatWest, maybe they spoofed it from a different number, or could be that the calls got mixed up somehow - something you can do with some modern phone tech nowadays. I quickly looked up the number online, saw the warning signs, and just ended the call.
