Received a call from a gentleman who oddly knew my name and even my postcode, asking if this was my first will or if I’d made one before. He also wanted to know if I have any kids under 18 and whether we own our home. The call came totally out of nowhere. He mentioned he was with Elm Financial and Legal Services but never told me his name. From how he spoke, it was clear he knew who I was. The call was very short and he was the one who ended it. I honestly think it might have been some kind of scam. My husband and I had recently talked about making wills, but neither of us has reached out to any will writers. I’ve since blocked the number to avoid any more calls.

These are just scammers. Blocking them doesn’t really help coz they just ring you again from another fake number. Best thing is to take action and report them. Search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the UK police website. Then go to the phishing report section, scroll down and fill out the quick form to report it.
