Got a call earlier from a lady with an Asian accent saying she was from Openreach Technical. She asked how I was doing, and I just replied "Fine, thanks" a bit brusquely. I guess my tone sounded a bit harsh, because she ended the call straight away. Guess she saw I wasn't interested!

Got a call earlier today from a person speaking with an accent from abroad, saying there was an issue with my BT internet. I told them I don’t even use BT, and they just ended the call. Later, I looked up the number and found plenty of others had the same experience. Co. Armagh here.

Honestly, it's baffling that these people can’t be traced. Surely, for them to use an 0800 number, they’d have to sign up or provide some details first, right? How come no one goes after them?

The other day, I got a call on my home phone from a person saying they were with BT and that my internet speed was slow because my neighbours had hacked my connection. It was obviously a scam. Then today, I received another call on my mobile from that very same number, but this time the caller said they were from Amazon Prime. I cut the call straight away. They rang back later, but I just ignored it and didn’t answer.

Got a call earlier from this number, some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was calling from BT, telling me my internet wasn't secure or something. I asked him to prove who he was by giving me my name, address and email. He couldn’t do it! He said he’d send me a code via email to prove it was legit BT, but I haven’t received anything. The moment I said I work in IT, the guy just hung up! Absolute rubbish!

Got a call from a lady who sounded Indian, claiming to be from BT Openreach. She said there was some sort of dangerous activity happening with my broadband. I played along for a bit, but then told her she was clearly a scammer since I don't even use BT for my internet. I also mentioned that all calls here get recorded. She quickly ended the call after that.

Left a comment here yesterday about getting a call that claimed to be from BT Openreach. Well, today I got two more calls from the same number 0800 044331. Told them to stop ringing me, but instead I just got shouted at before they cut me off. The TPS is absolutely useless as usual. Is there really nothing that can be done to stop these annoying calls? Got a ring from this number earlier, and I answered. The woman on the line had an Indian accent and claimed to be from BR Openreach. She kept going on about some dodgy stuff happening with my internet and insisted I needed to tinker with the router right away. I cut her off straight away and told her I wasn't falling for it.

Just like a few others have mentioned, I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. She said my internet was under attack and offered to fix it. I let her talk for a bit, then told her I don’t even have internet, and she ended the call abruptly. I really want to give these scammers a piece of my mind, but I’m a bit uneasy since BT no longer outsources to Indian call centres. Makes me wonder how many former employees still have my info from when they actually worked for BT!

I got a call on my home phone from a woman claiming to be from BT, saying my internet had been hacked. She mentioned I'd probably noticed some slow internet lately. She even knew part of my email address, which seemed odd. She said she'd send me an email about it but wanted me to log into a device and give her my IP address. When I said I was ending the call, she threatened to suspend my internet for 72 hours if I didn’t comply. I told her to do whatever she wanted and politely hung up.

some bloke rang claiming to be from bt broadband, said someone else was mooching off my internet and offered to sort it out. he tried to get me to do some kinda backup thing so he could get into my laptop remotely to fix it - sounded dodgy to me! i kept him chatting for like 10 minutes, wasting his time by acting like i was buying it, then just cut him off. he called again but didn’t leave any voicemail - guess he wasn’t really bothered about helping me after all.
