Just got the same thing in the post, a letter that says it's a mortgage refund from Halifax. They keep shouting about "WE HAVE TO GIVE YOU THIS MONEY BACK" and "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE," trying to rush you into it like they’re about to drop cash in your bank right away! Total scam alert! The PO Box was listed under Blair Oliver and Scot Debt Collectors / Solicitors or something like that. Avoid at all costs!

Dont ever ring this number! Its some dodgy debt collectors pretending to be legit, but they aint linked to any bank. They just want your bank info and personal stuff to scam you. Best to block and report them to police or Action Fraud, seriously.

Got a letter from Halifax bank but the phone number on it isn't anywhere in their official listings. The letter came with an address that's just a PO Box in Rosyth, Fife, which makes me a bit suspicious it's some kind of scam. Still, I’m gonna ring up Halifax myself to make sure it’s legit before jumping to conclusions.

I got a letter that seemed to be from MBNA, saying they’d cleared my credit card debt because they’d wrongly put a default on my credit file. It looked pretty real with my account’s last four digits and the exact balance I owed. But you know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So I looked up the number 08000294316 and found this website, which shows that this number is often linked to fake bank letters.

I got a letter from RBS saying I was owed some money back and they wanted me to call this number with my bank info or go into a branch. I tried phoning Royal Bank of Scotland to verify, but the call got disconnected.

I received a letter showing the Bank of Scotland logo, claiming I was eligible for a rebate from my late mum’s closed account. They asked me to provide my bank details like my sort code and account number, and gave a number to ring back on. Pretty clear it was a scam.

So, today I received a letter saying it was from Lloyds bank and telling me to ring a certain number. Thing is, I’ve never had an account with Lloyds before! Quite strange, really.
