What’s creepy is they somehow have your name, phone, and email. I reckon if you weren’t paying attention, you could easily click that highlighted number and get caught out.

Scam alert! They said they were from HSBC and actually knew my full name but then asked for more personal stuff to “confirm my identity,” which I didn’t give them. They wanted to arrange a callback but I told them no thanks, I’d ring HSBC myself. The person on the phone was really polite and sounded legit. I ended up calling HSBC directly and they told me no calls had come from them and all my accounts were totally fine.

Terrible call, the person sounded Asian and already had my name and address. Claimed to be from HSBC credit card dept and knew my account was overdrawn. Offered to set up a repayment plan to assist me. Said they'd phone me again in 2 days. I told them I'd just go to my local branch to sort it out myself.
