Received a call today from someone inquiring about an air conditioning unit. Decided to pass on responding.

I received a call from a number I believe to be affiliated with BT-08001691608. They wanted me to choose from three options, but I chose to hang up instead. After a brief silence, the caller instructed me to return the call to another number, 080000285710. Honestly, I reckon both these numbers seem a bit suspect. By the way, I’ve taken to singing a little tune inspired by Bob Marley, “your scammer’s not gonna scam it with you,” and it’s been quite effective! The "Amazon Prime" lot have decided to give me a wide berth since then!

Absolutely infuriating! I've left messages on three separate occasions, yet they keep insisting I ring them back. It’s downright disrespectful, especially since it seems they’ve been pulling this stunt for ages. One would think that someone at BT or similar would have the means to track these calls down. Frustrated beyond measure - caller: MEM.

I received an automated voicemail on my answerphone purporting to be from BT, typically the sort of thing you get when your bill is late:
"This is a communication from BT. We need to reach the account holder for 01### ######. This is not a sales inquiry. Would the account holder for 01### ###### ... " - usually, a legitimate BT call prompts you to "Press 1," but this one didn’t. The message played twice and ultimately urged the account holder to ring 0800 028 5710.
It led me down a rather convincing script, resulting in me unintentionally divulging my debit card information.
A call to BT today verified that this isn’t one of their recognised numbers. Luckily, I managed to block the card before any illicit use occurred!

I’ve gone along with Norton's assurance that BT doesn’t acknowledge the number. The recorded voice is surprisingly clear and professional. Are these chaps actually getting better? Yet, there’s something about their tone that raises my eyebrows. I can’t say I’m keen to return the call. Although, after a few pints down at the pub, I might be tempted to dial them up with my best impersonation of a Nigerian general, claiming I've got a cool million just itching to go into their account! :)

Earlier today, we had a chat with BT and were informed that this number belongs to their "marketing" team. Apparently, they'll call to try to establish a direct debit with you. However, there's no need to return their call! 😊

Last night, we decided to give BT's customer support a bell regarding this number, and to our dismay, we encountered a rather curt representative. They claimed they couldn't clarify if this was or had ever been a BT number, citing the fact that it’s an 0800 number. Talk about frustrating! :(

I've received two automated calls from this number over the past week. After reaching out to BT about it, they suggested it’s likely some sort of scam. It appears they’re unable to trace calls from 0800 numbers since these scammers buy them in bulk. It really does seem like there's a gap in their system when it comes to tracking these so-called 'free phone' frauds.

We rang up BT's customer support last night using this number, and the chap on the line couldn't confirm whether it actually belonged to BT or not, seeing as it's an 0800 number. Quite baffling, really!

Felt a bit dodgy: BT didn’t have a clue about the number, so it’s probably some sort of scam.

I received a voicemail this morning from BT. They’re after speaking with the account holder associated with this number. If the account holder could give me a bell back on 08000285710, that would be grand. Again, that’s 08000285710. I dialled the Caller ID number and managed to reach BT, who mentioned they needed to handle a payment regarding a recent invoice.

I received a call earlier today regarding my partner's account. While I was looking through the other BT contact numbers on our bills, I couldn't help but notice that this particular number has eleven digits, whereas the others only have ten. I'm not entirely sure if this difference means anything in particular, but it does raise a few eyebrows for us. Just seems a tad fishy, to be honest.

I received a peculiar call earlier from a number that BT didn’t recognise. The automated voice was surprisingly clear, I must say. It does make one wonder if they’re honing their skills, doesn’t it? Yet there was something about the whole affair that struck me as rather dodgy, which puts me off the idea of ringing back. After a few pints down the pub, I found myself toying with the notion of calling them back and pretending to be someone frantically trying to claim a million quid supposedly sitting in a bank account in Nigeria! Quite the laugh, eh?
