I was just scrolling through Facebook when out of nowhere my screen flashed a warning with the Microsoft logo, saying my account was being compromised and my bank info was at risk. It also mentioned that my Windows 7 registration had expired. They showed a phone number, so I called it. Turned out to be a business based in Thailand asking for money to "halt the hacking". They sounded so believable that I nearly went ahead with the payment. Luckily, my bank blocked the transaction and sent me a fraud alert. I ended the call and spent ages fixing my computer afterwards.

Got a call on my landline from someone claiming they could help me cut costs on my rental. Didn’t hang about, just told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call quick.

On the 3rd of October 2018, at about 5pm, I got a call from 08000273930. When I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end. We’re signed up to the TPS and have a recorded message to block cold callers, so I usually just let the phone ring out. I only bothered this time because I was waiting for an important call. To my annoyance, this same number had already called once earlier that week. Plus, we’re ex-directory, so it’s even more frustrating.
