The call came way outside regular office hours. Don’t reply to this number; it’s definitely a scam.

This number is definitely dodgy. I’ve been with Eon for my electricity for almost 11 years, and they suddenly sent me a bill for £534. They said they couldn’t read my smart meter ‘cause it’s too old 😂 When I told them they aren’t my energy supplier, I refused to pay a single penny. After that, the guy’s ‘customer service’ seemed to disappear, and his last words were about sending a debt collector. I checked my Eon account and it’s still there, so don’t pay these guys anything - they’re just a bunch of con artists.

Looks like Scottish Power reckoned I’d consumed £1000 worth of electricity in just three weeks - loads for a whole year! And that was three years after I’d already switched to a better provider. I got a call from this Scottish Power number but it was actually some dodgy call centre in India using their name. They said Scottish Power couldn’t supply me anymore because they’d lost their grid where I live. Then they claimed I was being switched to Opus Energy. Later, Opus Energy called me back from another Indian call centre. After a bit of digging, I rang both Scottish Power and Opus Energy and they told me it was definitely a scam!

This number rang me earlier today, and the person said they were from Resolver about a Scottish Power complaint I’d made through them! They gave an Asian name but spoke with a clear Scottish accent. I know it sounds a bit odd, but when I’ve spoken to Asian people on the phone before, you usually can tell by their speech patterns or accent, no matter where in the UK they say they’re from. Is it just me noticing this??

Scottish Power said they were installing smart meters nearby. I tried booking an appointment online, but it wouldn’t let me proceed. Then I phoned and ended up waiting more than an hour just to speak to someone. When I finally got through, they gave me a different number to call to arrange the appointment. They said sorry and promised £30 compensation for wasting my time! Just booked another slot, but it’s two weeks away now. Got told that if they fail to show again, I’ll get another £30! Dealing with Scottish Power has been such a nightmare. I've got a second meter for heating which I never even use from them, yet there’s been nothing but trouble.
