At this point, I've given up on picking up and have saved their number as 'SPAM' to avoid any accidental answers. This method seems to work wonders; it curbs my inclination to respond with my own rudeness. Everyone wins in this scenario, I reckon!

Received a call but no message was left. When I returned the call, I got a recorded message saying, "This is an answering machine, please leave a message." It all feels rather suspicious, doesn’t it?

It's quite peculiar - my mobile rings, and just a couple of minutes down the line, my landline goes off too. I never pick up, yet the calls keep coming. Quite baffling, really!

I just rang the number back (using 141 to hide my own) and was greeted with an automated message that went something like this:

"Vanquis Bank attempted to get in touch with you earlier today. We shall reach out again at a later date."

To clarify, I don’t owe Vanquis Bank a penny; my account is perfectly fine, with all payments up to date and not a single late notice in sight. I habitually settle my statement balance before the deadline.

In my previous experiences, Vanquis Bank tends to ring me up with the intention of peddling some questionable money-making schemes (for them, mind you), or similar offers.

I should mention that although I have an account with Vanquis Bank, it's only due to my current credit situation. I really can't fathom why anyone with a solid credit score would choose to bank with them.
