Indesit tumble dryer keeps ringing me up like clockwork, twice every single day. They've already sent an engineer over twice, but it looks like the company just can’t keep their act together. I’ve told them loads of times it’s all fixed and to quit ringing me, but they just don’t listen. I’ve started ignoring the calls now because it’s honestly just so annoying and feels like harassment!

They rang but didn’t leave any message. I’m ex-directory and signed up for the TPS, so I wasn’t expecting any marketing calls, which is why I looked them up here. I’ve never owned a tumble dryer at all, so it’s pretty clear this must be a scam.

It could very well be related to a recall or possibly a part that needs replacing in their tumble dryer. I’ve had my own experience with this, as mine was singeing my garments.

Some woman rang about a tumble dryer at half ten this morning. She asked for my name and address right away, so I just said no thanks, I’ll sort the dryer out on my own. She then said she’d put a note on my account saying I turned down a free repair. It honestly sounded like a threat or something, but who on earth calls you and doesn’t even know your name?

I missed a call from this number, they left a voicemail, then sent a text about some tumble dryer change thing i never signed up for. quite odd!

I've been getting constant calls about my tumble dryer. Every time I pick up my mobile, all I hear is a recorded message stating that there was no response, and they’ll be trying again soon. It's quite baffling!

If this is a real business, they really need to hire someone who actually speaks English with a proper English accent.

Got a call, I picked up and some bloke said he was trying to reach (my surname), then the bugger just cut me off.

They were chatin’ about tax free wine investments, sayin' I could put in between £5000 and £50,000 for five years with a 12.5% return. I told ’em I just spent all my cash on buying a business. No worries, she says, we’ll send you a leaflet and you can invest whenever (yeah, right). Said she’d ring me up next week too, not sure why tho. When asked if I liked wine, I said yeah, I drink it! Still, folks keep wasting my time with this stuff.

I've been receiving calls from this number daily on both my mobile and landline. It’s becoming quite tiresome! I managed to block it on my mobile, but unfortunately, I can’t do the same on my landline. Really fed up with this!

I got nothing but silence when I called back. Also, I’ve seen a number looking like this one that actually makes you pay just to pick up the phone.

I didn't pick up because the number was unfamiliar. No voicemail was left, which I find a bit odd. This website suggests it's Hotpoint, but that's peculiar since I had a replacement around a year back. It seems they've confused me with another customer, likely due to being overwhelmed with calls at the moment.

I’m absolutely fed up with these calls. I reported my tumble dryer issues loads of times but never got any reply. Then I had to write a complaint, and by the time they finally got back to me, I’d already binned the old dryer and bought a new one. That was ages ago, over a year now. Still, they keep phoning and texting me to arrange an engineer visit. I've told them over and over that I don’t own the dryer anymore. Yet, to my surprise, two engineers have just turned up at my door without warning!

This number is new, but it usually shows up as a Private Number. I got nothing but silence when I answered. A few months back, someone came to check my dryer and said it was already fixed (it was quite new, so maybe they sorted it at the factory). Even after telling them it’s all sorted, they keep ringing me every now and then. They really should be chasing up the folks who actually need the repair!!

The thing is, I’ve never purchased anything from them in my life, and I certainly wouldn’t have given my number to such a company. Clearly, it’s a scam. For your own safety, steer clear of giving them any info. In fact, it’s wise to avoid answering calls from numbers you don’t recognize altogether. If you lack caller ID, let the phone ring and then use 1471 to check who it was later. Picking up indicates that your number is active, and they may end up pestering you relentlessly or selling your details further. If it were truly Indesit and they had trouble reaching you by phone, they could just as easily get in touch via email or send a letter to your address, which they’d have access to through previous orders. I genuinely don’t know who these people really are, but I can assure you they are not from Indesit, and the message I received was utterly unprofessional and rather garbled. It's complete rubbish and they’re likely fishing for any personal information to sell or possibly use to take out loans under your name. Stay vigilant!

23.50 called and no reply, not surprisng from 0800. After reading the comments it seems pretty normal, we have a tumble dryer thats acting up too.

Got a voicemail at 10.41pm about Hotpoint tumble dryers! I actually own an Indesit dryer that’s been serviced and it’s working perfectly. I only got this phone line last year and haven’t signed up with any companies or anything, so no clue how they even got my number.

Got a call at 10:20 pm but no one said anything, bit annoying especially as I live on my own. Some say it’s about fixing dryers, which makes more sense, otherwise I’d think it was just a creepy silent call late at night. Not happy about it.

Got a call around 11:15pm last night, faint voice sounded like it could have been a machine. I called the number back, and it was an automated message for Indesit saying they’d get back to me. The number’s pretty close to 0800 159010 but missing a zero, looks like it’s their recall helpline. Probably some tech glitch or idiot messing up the programming.

They rang me at 11.27 at night! Seriously, who calls so late? And they didn’t even bother leaving a voicemail!

We were a bit worried it could be urgent because we’ve got elderly family around. Not really happy about it. If it’s Hotpoint, they should be organising a repair for my dodgy dryer - I got an email a while back saying they’d tried ringing but never got through - not shocking at all!

this number keeps ringing me and every time its just some garbled recorded message i cant make out. the first call though, it was a real person asking if i had the serial number for my tumble dryer. i said no cause i was at work and didnt have the details with me. really poor service overall.

I received a rather jumbled voicemail that was less than clear, if I'm honest. It sounded like someone was just rattling off a series of names, albeit in a very muffled way. The only thing I could make out was a street name that’s just a short stroll from where I live-about a two-minute walk. Quite bizarre, really!

Received a call on the 14th of June around half three in the afternoon. The message they left was quite garbled; it was difficult to decipher what was being said. The caller came across as either inebriated or possibly just drowsy.

I'm dealing with a right pickle over my dryer, which has been a right nuisance. Being in a wheelchair complicates matters further, as escaping a potential fire scenario is out of the question for me. I raised the issue back in October and am still left hanging. A lady got in touch this week and indicated a replacement was on the cards. However, I’ve been on the phone 27 times just this week alone, often left on hold for over half an hour, and had the pleasure of being redirected to seven different non-existent numbers. I was promised callbacks four times, but guess what? Not a single one came through. Just yesterday, a different lady mentioned a new model would be on its way, complete with a contact number to sort out the delivery. But lo and behold, today another representative told me there’s no replacement coming after all. I flagged the issue within three weeks of buying it, you see, as it was ruining all my garments due to overheating. They’ve dragged their feet on this until I was outside the 28-day return window.
