Heads up about a fresh scam going about!!
While I was on the HMRC site, suddenly this warning popped up on my screen. I called the number they gave, and some bloke pretended to be from Microsoft, saying they’d fix the ‘problem’ for a fee. Of course, I didn’t hand over any info. They claim they can get into your PC and clean out your bank balance!!
Make sure you let others know!!

Was on HMRC's site when my computer suddenly freaked out. A blue screen popped up with a number to call. Rang it and they said fixing it would be £300, but then they quickly dropped the price to £100.

Looks like this could be one of those dodgy calls from India. I'd highly advise against picking it up; it’s definitely a scam without a doubt!

Hey everyone, just wanted to warn you about some scam calls from a bloke calling himself JOHN claiming to be from Microsoft support. He’s been ringing from a couple of numbers like +212365478 and 448000513909, with an extension 2013. As soon as he started speaking, I knew it was a con. They use a programme that looks like TeamViewer, calling it secure login, trying to get access to your computer and charge you around £500. I actually filmed the call to show what he was attempting with my PC. Lucky for me, I’d already unplugged my internet, so couldn't do any damage. These scammers say they protect you from hackers stealing your bank details, but they’re the ones tryna nick your cash! Just block those numbers right away. If you ever hear your PC beep loudly or get a blue screen with a number saying it’s from Microsoft, don’t freak out. Look up that number online before calling. Online safety is a nightmare nowadays, so watch out and stay safe!
