I got a call from 08000151515, some bloke saying my bank card had been charged 400 quid at Argos. He said they sent me a code, which looked like a proper Halifax security one, and asked me for it. Luckily, I didn’t give it to him and went to check my online banking straight away. Turns out, there was nothing at all wrong with my account. Felt like a dodgy scam to me!

Got calls from this number three days running. Didn’t pick up at first but got intrigued what story they’d tell. When I finally answered, some bloke claimed to be from Barclays fraud team, so I just hung up straight away. Later I rang the number back and it was some automated voice saying ‘welcome to the Halifax ll’. Might actually pick up if they call again, just to confuse them and kill some of their time for a change.

Somebody called saying they were from Halifax's fraud team, but it seemed fishy. I checked the reviews here, saw others had the same suspicion, so I just blocked the number and reported it straight away.

Some bloke called himself Daniel and claimed he was ringing from Lloyds Bank. He told me he’d send codes so I could stop a few transactions on my card, but weirdly those codes ended up being for payment somehow. Watch out, don’t share any info with them. Just end the call and ring your bank straight away to block your card and order a replacement.
