Had a couple of calls this afternoon from someone claiming to be from NatWest, saying my card was being used without authorisation and asking me to press 1 or 2 to deal with it. I checked with NatWest myself on a different number and found out it was a scam. Turns out NatWest had already flagged some dodgy activity on my card since someone tried to open an Amazon account with it earlier, so my card got blocked. Really dodgy number, full of fraudsters - watch out!

I got some texts followed by a call from 0800 0150499 claiming to be NatWest. To be sure, I rang their usual fraud line and they confirmed the call was genuine. I did give my date of birth during the call to pass their security check, which made me a bit uneasy, thinking it might have been a scam trying to fish for personal info. Gladly, it wasn’t a scam after all. Next time though, I reckon I’ll try giving a fake date of birth first - if they reject it, then I’ll consider sharing the real one.

Like some folks mentioned already, this number rang me and wanted me to call them back, but it turned out to be an automated voice. I got a bit wary and ended the call before ringing Natwest directly on their fraud line from the app. The rep said that this 499-ending number is legit Natwest, and the automated service actually speeds up the security checks so you don’t have to wait as long as when you call normally. I rang NatWest's credit card fraud dept on a different line (0800 161 5153) and they told me that 0800 0150 499 is indeed a real NatWest number used for automated messages about recent card activity via text or voicemail. This happened after a payment I tried to make in the US was blocked as suspicious. I needed to call 0800 0150 499 to verify my identity so they could unblock my card. The guy I talked to at NatWest already had all the info without me needing to go through it.

Just got a real automated call from NatWest saying they’d frozen my card because of some dodgy transactions. Happened right after I’d booked a cruise, paid a big lump all at once. The bank thought it looked fishy. I also got a text from the same number and all I had to do was reply to confirm so the payment would be accepted.

08000 478515 keeps ringing like 3 or 4 times a day, i just dont pick up and try to cancel but sometimes the call just wont cancel and i have to unplug me phone. Hard to block them since the numbers always swap.

Just to clarify, this is actually a number from Natwest, it’s the automated line they use if there’s been fraud on your account. I managed to speak with someone there, and they already had all my info so I only had to confirm my name and address. They even emailed me from an official Natwest address and cancelled my old account, sending me a new card. Seems like it wouldn’t be a scam given all that.

Got a message on my landline from a lady’s voice asking me to ring 08000150499. Then I got another call, answered it, and heard the same automated woman asking me to confirm my birth year by pressing a number - like 1 for 1950s, 2 for 1960s, 3 for 1970s or something.
