I was browsing Facebook when I clicked on a headline about Sir Paul McCartney supposedly being dead, and that’s when my screen locked up. Alongside that, a recorded voice came on saying Microsoft had found spyware or malware on my PC and gave me an 0800 014 8546 number to ring. The screen stayed stuck and the message kept repeating for hours. Eventually, I phoned the number and was told to visit 3 Unit 3, Penfold Works, Imperial Way, Watford, WD24 4YY, and was given the contact name Christopher Norris. They claimed I had Trojan spyware, but for £199.99 they could sort it out and even boost my security. It felt dodgy, so I contacted my bank, who confirmed it was a scam and told me to cut all ties. I got convinced because of the BT 0800 number and what looked like a proper UK address. Just a heads up - don’t fall for it!

Got a voicemail on my laptop from some lot claiming my computer was infected with a virus and my info was getting nicked.

Back in June, they managed to swipe £840 from my bank, and now it seems like they’re at it once more.

Watch out and don’t fall for these dodgy characters.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Facebook, saying my PC was infected and I should ring back straight away. Didn't end up calling them though.
