There’s no way this was Virgin - they rang me at 9.20pm when their call centres should be shut!!! They wanted me to answer like 12 security questions (name, DOB, address, mother’s maiden name, place of birth, last payment amount, sort code, phone number). Luckily I checked this site first and gave mostly wrong info haha. The woman got quite annoyed when I asked why they were calling and why all the questions. They did have the right number but I’m pretty sure this is a scam where they mask their real number. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

It said it was Virgin Money but then they wanted me to do a security check. Bit suspicious right away. I just gave them fake info and somehow it still went through? Then they told me to keep on top of my payments. Sounds totally dodgy to me! Never share your personal info with these people!!!

I felt a bit iffy since they asked for security info and the number wasn’t listed on Virgin’s site. So I rang the number on the back of my card, and they confirmed it was legit and connected me. Turns out it’s a new team dealing with coronavirus payment holidays, which is why the number isn’t on the website yet.

I received a call from what seemed to be Virgin regarding security information, which made me a bit wary. To ease my mind, I decided to ring the number listed on the back of my credit card. Virgin verified that it was indeed a legitimate call coming from their outbound team working on payment holidays due to the coronavirus situation. Since outbound calls don't have their number published on the Virgin website, it was reassuring to get that confirmation.

Virgin Money tried asking me loads of security questions like my birthdate, the first few letters of my mum’s maiden name, and my mobile number but I only knew the last 3 digits. They also asked for my last card purchase which I couldn’t remember. In the end, they said I’d failed the security checks and told me to call back. No chance I could get through that way.
