Was curious about that number so gave it a ring, usually love finding dodgy scams or annoying telemarketers with my soundboards. The bloke who answered said it’s not the telephone preference service anymore, they apparently went bust and he now owns the number. He mentioned he’s with Everest Home Improvements. Bit odd tho how a freephone number is tied to a mobile - reckon it must cost him loads getting calls on that from a freephone!

I got a call on our landline from 0800 009 6210. The person claimed they were from some nuisance call stopping service and tried to convince me to pay £2 a month. Honestly, it’s just a trick to get your bank details. Don’t fall for it!

I recently received a call at home on 0800 009 6210, which was made to my elderly mother. The caller attempted to extract her bank card information. Fortunately, she only divulged the expiry date. He introduced himself as Fred. It’s quite concerning and utterly unprofessional, to say the least. If this call was genuinely legitimate, then surely this so-called "salesman" ought to be dismissed or compelled to undergo some proper re-education.

Got a call not long ago offering to stop all those pesky unwanted calls. I wouldn’t give out my info over the phone though. Told them to send me the information by letter and I’d decide once I had a proper look. Not holding my breath on hearing back from them!

I'm quite unsure about this. I’m looking into it more but from what I found on the www.gov.uk business registrar, the company is there, yet there are other very similar names that have actually been shut down. Seems like it could be some kind of dodgy call-blocking service that asks for money to block calls. Just so you know, the real telephone preference service doesn’t charge you anything for stopping unwanted calls. 634

This definitely ain't a scam, once you've got the box sorted, it actually does the job and blocks those calls! Getting it up and running can be a bit tricky though, so the easiest way to handle that is to bring in an engineer to set it all up.

So there’s this firm known as the Nuisance Call Prevention Service and honestly, they’re more trouble than help! They managed to con my 90-year-old mum out of some cash, and now I'm determined to take action against them.

My elderly mum faced this exact issue. It's absolutely a scam, so never share your credit card info with them. The real Telephone Preference Service (TPS) that blocks annoying calls doesn't cost a penny.

Today my 90 year old mum got a call from these people, and they were asking for her bank details to supposedly stop nuisance calls. They said there’s a single charge of £89 that would end the calls forever. We’re really concerned now it might be a scam. Can anyone confirm if these folks are legit or not?

Today my 90-year-old mum got a call from these lot. They wanted her bank info so they could supposedly charge a one-time fee of £89 to put an end to the nuisance calls for good. It sounds dodgy to me, especially targeting my elderly mum like that.

I received a phone call from someone purporting to provide a service to block unwanted calls. Quite the stroke of ingenuity! I was momentarily convinced until they requested my card information. Upon seeking guidance from the local constabulary, I was directed to contact Actionfraud at 0300-123-2040, and they've now logged the incident for further inquiry. If others follow suit, it could make a real difference.
