When I got in touch with Thames Water about a leak, they rang me back from this number to verify the details and give me an update about when they’d be visiting to check the problem.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! They call saying there’s a water leak at your place, even when there isn’t one. Then they put you through to someone pretending to be Thames Water and rack up huge charges per minute while they supposedly check the non-existent leak. Just block the number straight away and keep an eye on your phone bill - you can get the money back if you spot these dodgy charges.
