Greetings everyone, just wanted to chime in with my own experience. These calls come through at work quite frequently, and it’s absolutely maddening. We’re eager for the day we can finally confront these callers since we’ve sussed out their identities. Honestly, I’m itching to give them a piece of my mind and hopefully put an end to their nuisance. Absolute blighters!

I found the whole experience quite unsettling and rather threatening. I received calls during the day-while my partner was at work-from someone identifying themselves only as 'PDU'. They insisted on speaking only to my wife, which felt quite odd. We usually only answer the phone for emergencies related to our family or partner, so this was very out of the blue. We have plenty on our plates without dealing with such nonsense.

Absolutely right, Alison, it’s indeed Payday UK. These blokes have been ringing us twice a day since 27th November 2009. They never leave a message, mind you. We answered one of their calls earlier today (2nd December 2009) and ended up with a woman blabbering on about some financial matters, presumably from the Sheffield area. To be honest, we couldn’t grasp much of what she was saying; she was rambling on at breakneck speed, using all sorts of posh lingo that was utterly baffling. We simply muttered, “Apologies, I’m currently out of work,” and, just like that, the line went dead.

I can't believe it, but I've had the annoyance of them ringing me 27 times while I’m trying to get my work done over the last two weeks! Is there any way to put a stop to their calls but still keep the lines open for important contacts? Such a nuisance!

When they inquired about the name, we promptly replied, "There's no one of that name here." If they bother to consult their records for this number, they'll find it isn't registered to us at all! We're already aware of this number calling, so we'll know to ignore any future attempts. Next time they ring, we'll simply hang up without a second thought.

When we asked for the identity of the organisation, they stubbornly refused to divulge any information unless we revealed our own details first.
