Had the same happen to me, but he actually mentioned one of my previous addresses and said they’d be posting me something. I called him out on it and he just ended the call.

Some bloke rang me on Friday arvo, usually I ignore unknown mobiles but cos I was working from home, expecting work calls, I picked up. He sounded Asian and said he was from the county court, claiming they’d passed my info to him. I asked who he was and for more details. He mentioned a name I couldn’t place, but then said stuff that worried me since I’m in debt management til Jan 2018. When I questioned him, telling him this, he asked again then just hung up. I tried ringing back 3 times but the line was dead. Best not to answer this number at all.

What a prat, started throwing insults at me the moment I corrected him even a single time. Best just to ignore and block, or be ready to get shouted at, though I didn't hold back myself.

Some guy with an Asian accent called me about owing money. I asked him which companies I supposedly owed, and then he just hung up. After reading these reviews, I’m glad he did. Sounds like a total scammer.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming I was paying off debts and that they could fix it, which is rubbish. After I told him that, he never called back. But after that, I kept hearing loads of voicemail messages from others saying stuff like ‘no you can't help me’ and asking how they got their number. Really weird to listen to. I looked it up and it's an O2 mobile number. Tried to report it but they were no help at all.

Got a call asking if they were speaking to me by name, and I said yes since I’d just put my CV up on a few job sites. The person started talking about some debt collection firm and mentioned 'FCA approval' or something like that. I asked them twice which company they represented, but all I got was talk about 'writing off up to 60% of your debt'. I ended the call and blocked the number - definitely felt like a dodgy scam.

Got a call on my mobile from a bloke claiming to be from a credit company. Honestly, i couldn't make out what he was saying, prob coz i was driving and the signal was rubbish. I asked him a few times to say it again. When i asked where he was calling from, he said Manchester. I asked again and he changed it to London! I then asked if I could speak to someone else who might be easier to understand, without the thick accent, and he just ended the call.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent working in some call centre, loads of noise in the background. He said he was from the UK govt about some unpaid debts over £5000. He asked me to confirm my address. I asked what address he had for me and he finally told me - it was my old address from 3 years ago. When I said I thought it was a scam, he started swearing at me, getting really nasty. He even went on with racist insults and told me to f##k off. I ended it there and blocked the number straight away.

Some bloke called himself John from Citizens Advice, saying I owed money on loans I never took. I asked why the CAB would be bothering me, and he just kept going on like, "You know who I am." I told him I didn’t. Then he came out with, "I’m the one shagging your mum every night." I shot back with something about necrophilia, but he hung up quick smart. Sounded like he was in some call centre, his English was decent but definitely had an accent.

Just got a call from someone saying they were from Citizens Advice about some debt I supposedly owed - I don’t have any debts and just the one credit card, so it was pretty clear it was fake. Told him Citizens Advice don’t do calls like that and he got proper rude. Told him to remove my number from whatever list he had but he refused. Warned him if he rang again I’d report him to the police for fraud. Blocked the number and reported it to fraud services. Don’t pick up, just hang up - it’s a scam.

A bloke called "Derrick" rang me from this number, talking with an Indian accent, claiming he was from the "Citizens Advice Bureau." He was going on about my credit rating and saying loads of firms had flagged me for unpaid debts, which is rubbish 'cause I don’t owe a penny to anyone. Watch out, don’t hand over your personal info, it felt really sketchy. As soon as I told him I haven’t got any debts, he just hung up on me!
