Someone rang me saying they were from Carphone Warehouse and wanted to talk about a phone contract I supposedly had. Since I don't have one, I just ended the call. Pretty clear that was a scam.

Got a call today from 07990827959, twice actually. I reckon it's someone having a go, trying to sneak bank info or something. Seems like these scams are really getting outta control here in the UK.

I picked up and there was some bloke chatting to someone else in the background, then he just hung up. When I tried answering a second time, he did the same thing again and disconnected.

I reckon this number's linked to some sort of Bitcoin or Forex scheme that ain't properly regulated. Definitely steer clear of them folks, they're not to be trusted.
