Got a call from this bloke with a really heavy accent, couldn’t quite place where from, claiming to be from some National Debt agency. I was proper busy and couldn’t chat, but he just kept pushing and wouldn’t hang up until I’d set a time for him to ring back. Didn’t accept a straight no either. Bit rude and way too persistent. Ended up having to block the number.

Could tell it was a call centre by the racket in the background. The person on the phone just kept quiet for around 10 seconds before suddenly hanging up. Pretty strange behaviour.

The caller had my full name, address and even repeated my phone number back to me. They mentioned something about a debt I owed and how it might be settled. There was also a vague mention of the UK Government. The lady on the line had poor English which made it really hard to follow what she was trying to say. She then tried to get me to say how much money I supposedly owed. I explained I was busy at work and asked if they could call me later. After ending the call, I immediately blocked their number.

Got a call this morning, 30th April 2019, around 11am from someone pretending to be a government official about some debt I supposedly owe. They already had my name and phone number. I nicely told them to take me off their list and stop ringing me. Ended up blocking the number. Be careful, these scams can really target vulnerable people!

The person on the line spoke broken English and there was loads of noise in the background, like they were in some kind of call centre, not just using a mobile. They started going on about me having debt issues, which is totally not true. What freaked me out was that they already knew my name along with my number. I just hung up straight away without even trying to explain myself. After checking out this website, I see loads of people have had similar calls. Definitely feels like a scam, and I can imagine it’d scare people who actually owe money.

Got a call from this number (07979 300417) claiming I had debts that weren’t secured. I flat out denied it and asked how they even got my details. The line kept dropping in and out and I told them off quite clearly before they just hung up. Sounds like another dodgy scammer to me.

I picked up the phone and before I could say much, the person on the other end said "Hello Mr Finch." I quickly told them they must have the wrong number, but then they seemed confused, asking "Wrong number?" I’m a woman, so was pretty sure it wasn’t for me. Didn’t stick around to see what else they’d say and hung up. They’ve rung me back since but I ignored it. Definately going to block that number.

Debt relief calls? It’s scary they ring you up cold, even when you don’t owe anything, and from what should be a TPS-blocked number, plus they already have your name. Poor folks with real money troubles must get drawn in by these leeches. I just dropped the call, blocked the number automatically, and reported it here on your site. It’s such a waste of work hours, and honestly, how much time do these pests take from people’s busy days? I thought this kinda harassment was illegal nowadays - anyone know how to report them properly so they get shut down and the cops get involved?

A call came through from someone claiming to be with Credit Investigations, said to be part of a UK Government agency. I told them I don’t entertain cold calls from scammers, but they honestly seemed convinced they were legit!

They called me using a fake name I usually put down when I register for stuff. The line was choppy and they kept going on about some debt I supposedly owe. There was loads of noise in the background as well. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. It was definitely a scam.

Yesterday afternoon, I got a call from someone claiming they worked for a debt counselling agency. They started saying I owed money and could get up to 60% of it back. I immediately knew it was a load of rubbish because A) I don't owe anyone a penny, and B) I could hear other people on the line chatting nonsense in the background. I decided to waste a bit of their time so they wouldn’t scam others, but the moment I told them I wasn’t in debt, the bloke got angry and just cut me off.

Debt help calls keep coming from this firm, but always using different numbers and places, even though my iPhone shows it's a landline.
