Got a call from someone saying they were from the National Crime Agency, telling me my National Insurance number was linked to “dodgy financial activities.” They said my number would get suspended and my assets frozen if I didn’t sort it out. They told me to press 1 to speak to an officer - I ignored it. Tried calling the number back, but it wasn’t even a real one. Turns out it’s a scam; the National Crime Agency only contacts people by mail, email or in person. Saw a mention of this in the Daily Express on Wednesday 21/4/21. Definitely don’t press one!
