Somebody rang me saying they were from the tax office but had an American accent, which sounded a bit dodgy to me. Definitely didn’t sound like the usual Inland Revenue calls.

I just got a text from this number and it definitely seems suspicious. It claimed I had unpaid parking tickets and said I needed to pay by 14 January 2026 or else I'd face extra charges and even risk losing my driving licence, which could mess up my credit score. They asked me to enter my car registration on a link they sent to check and pay the fine for free: https://parking-pcnzk[.]cn/i The message warned about legal trouble if I didn't pay right away. Sounds like a classic scam to me.
