Today I got quite a few calls from 07986 840... - looks like Virgin Mobile starting with that. Definitely scammy stuff. One was a recorded message claiming to be the NCA warning about National Insurance numbers. I checked the NCA site and loads of folks have reported similar fake calls. The NCA never phones people about NI numbers, that's a red flag right there. Then someone phoned acting like they’d missed a call from me. When I asked who it was, they just hung up. Later they tried ringing again but I blocked them straight away.
