I received a rather dubious automated call informing me that a £600 payment had been dispatched overseas from my bank. It went on to instruct me to ring a specific number if I hadn’t approved the transaction. As it turns out, I hadn’t carried out any such transaction, and after a quick look at my bank statement, I found no trace of it either. It’s obvious this is a scam attempt designed to provoke a response and elicit my personal details. Quite alarming, really!
