I picked up this number and noticed a bit of lag before the call went through. There was loads of background chatter, seemed like a busy call centre or summat. The person on the line spoke with a strong Asian accent and gave me a name I didn’t recognise, so I just hung up. Later, I rang the number back about half an hour after to find out who it was. A bloke answered straight away, no noise or anything, and said he hadn’t called me. Funny thing is, he mentioned he had the same weird call a week ago. Can scammers or those marketing firms fake phone numbers to cover their tracks like that?
